Dinnerware for RVing

We are new to long-term RVing, and would like to see what dinnerware (plates, bowls, etc) are the best to use indoor/outdoor. I was thinking of melamine plates, although after research it doesn't seem the "safest" to use. I would like something microwave/oven safe. Thanks for any suggestions!

Corelle as a gift from a friend when we got our TT. However we usually put a paper plate on top of the plates this makes cleaning easier and then the paper goes into the garbage or is burned. DW insists on a real glass for her tea, me I just use a plastic drinking cup.

We started with melamine. Do not do it! They melt and we did not like using them. We went to Corelle and we love those dished. We take shelf paper and cut a small piece to put between each plate so they do not rattle and hit each other while in the cabinet when we are traveling.

Wife, when she was alive, liked Plastic, I like Corelle

I think I broke ONE Corelle saucer. .that's all. Not easy to do.

Several plastic plates have failed due to age.
Home was where I park it. but alas the.

Use paper plates a lot of the time but do like to use nice plates too. Found a pretty set of melamine dishes at a TJ Max Home Store in a picnic display. Also a set of matching non breakable glasses. Have since seen these same plates at other TJ Max and Big Lots Stores.

Corelle is available as open-stock or Target or Wal-Mart.

We use some Corelle ware plus some good microwaveable for baking. We also have some paper plates for lunches that are mostly sandwiches.
When we travel they are kept in place by foam swimming noodles.
Corelle breaks into lots of tiny pieces when it breaks.

Generally we just use paper plates but a nice steak on a paper plate just doesn't cut it. We use Corelle dishes which are porcelain? but break resistant. Haven't broken one yet in 15 years of RVing.

This is exactly what we do. We also use the Corelle if we are hosting another couple at mealtime.

Another Corelle user.

But if we have no hookups, we tend to use some paper plates as well to reduce the amount of gray water produced by clean up.

Corelle does not break

Corelle is resistant to breakage. But it will break and it is usually a gentle tap that causes it to break. I had a nice steak on my Corelle plate one trip. I turned and gently bumped against the corner of the stove. The plate broke into 3 pieces and the steak hit the deck. The dogs were on it quick as can be.

We use plastic plates. Our silverware was the older silverware after we got a nicer set for the house. Cups are plastic from college or pro sporting events. The cups get replaced every year after games.

We use Corelle and nothing has ever broken while moving. We also use our favorite wine glasses and coffee mugs, padded with soft liner paper when moving. I don't like spending money on paper plates since we are out 4 and 5 months.

Corelle wear is GLASS, it is not porcelain. Corelle ware is three layers of Glass, Porcelain is made from clay.

I bring my dishes from home, and paper and plastic. What I use depends on how I am feeling, water supply, etc.

For long term I would take corelle or some other type of dinnerware. The other things are great for weekend trips, but when it's your home, you want things that make you feel at home. We have a few plastic tumblers for the grandkids, some paper plates for those picnic meals outside and tupperware for leftovers, but most things are the same as I would have in a house.
