OMG What a Thing to Wake Up to This Saturday Morning

OK, RV brains.........

This AM I noticed my water pressure started out strong and then went to down to a dribble as the water ran fro a minute when I attempted to do the dishes.

I went outside to see if there was an issue and that little thingy next to where to water hose hooks into the camper was dripping so I opened the cap and it was full of water.

I ran to feel under my bed mattress and the carpet is wet by the water tank where there pump is as well. :h

So,......
I drained the water tank, turned off the water to the camper and plugged in my dehumidifier. :E

Do you all think I need a new water pump? :?

If so, can a person buy a pump and install it on their own? :@

Please tell me your thoughts while I to ponder over a cup of coffee and a box of tissues 😞

The water coming out the hose inlet accounts for the "no pressure" .. there is valve in there operated by a springy thing which is stuck open - you might get lucky and reset with small screwdriver or even attaching hose and turning on water for second or two .. not expensive or difficult to replace.

This happened to me. While boon docking, I wondered what that capped inlet was for and opened it. The pump blew a rubber piece and a lot of water out before I shut it off. We never use the city water connection, so I just put the cap back on and left it with no check valve.

My water pump has a filter right in front of it, and sometimes that will loosen up and leak... Giving it a turn now and then fixes it. Or you might need a new pump. The only way to know is to really look around and see where it's coming from.

That is because the internal check valve in the city water connection has jammed and is not allowing water in anymore....it did but now is stuck/failed.

This would depend on brand & model of RV, my Forester will Not overflow like that as it has an overflow tube that exits to the outside, next to the tank fill.
Of course, IF the check valve is allowing water into the tank faster than it will come out of the overflow tube... well it has to go somewhere.

I'm driving my New 2 Me motorhome from Texas to NH. I had water at the toilet only, After verifying by-pass valve I removed the airators, The little round screens on the non-functional faucets and found all kinds of GUNK plugging them up. Need a wrench to get them off, make sure you SLOWLY turn ever so slightly each way to determine what direction to turn to remove.
make SURE they are all clean. Also check & see if you have any filters on the water system, they might be plugged as well as the screen on the water pump inlet side.

You might need a new water pump.

You might need a screwdriver.

MANY RVers have a few screws loose.. Some of those hold the water pump together it turns out (or turned out in my case).

Replacing a water pump is easy .. but that's not likely your problem.

Once the outside water issue is resolved .. put some water in your tank, turn off faucets, turn on pump -- pump should turn on until system is pressurized and then turn off. If pump continues to run or periodically turns on then you have a "leak" and need to examine hoses/connections to see where it's leaking.
