What length sewer hose?

I can't decide between buying the 15 and the 20' RhinoFlex RV sewer hose kit. The 15'er is one piece and 20'er is made up of 2 10' hoses. My trailers waste hook-up is right about in the middle of the trailer, just in front the slide. I'm thinking that I should order an extension but I don't know how long?

I also considered the RhinoExtreme hose thinking that it would be better and possibly, but it got odd reviews on amazon. It got 4 stars, but for some reason 19% of the reviews only gave it 1 star and I thought that to be very high. I also wasn't sure if I could fit the 20' hose into the bumper.

Most sewer openings in parks with full hook-ups are within about 6' of your sewer connection. A shorter hose, maybe about 8', is best.

After two decades, and countless thousands of nights spent in who knows how many different campsites, I can verify that this is 100% true (about 1% of the time :))

The other 99% can be everything from 25 to 40 ft of hose, stretched like a guitar string, to typically a 15 footer that covers most situations. I just spent the winter in a state park where they put hundreds of sewer connections about six feet from the pad, and six feet from the street. Over the last few years I have distilled the "kit" down to a ten gallon Rubbermaid storage container, with a 10 and 15 foot hose, and a clear 90* elbow. Seems to be the most useful collection so far.

I carry a 15' Rhino. If that is not enough, I take the trailer to a dump station. (In 11 years of camping, it has always been enough.)

Hose supports never hurt and have had to use mine occasionally. For the weight and the room required I wouldn't be without one.

I also have a hose adapter that allows a garden hose to be connected that back washes up the black tank outlet and also down the sewer hose so you can get lots of fresh flushing water down it before you ever disconnect it. I've never had to use more than the one piece 15 ft rhino hose. If there's a sewer outlet too far, I just don't worry and dump my tanks when I leave. I never leave my sewer hose hooked up anyways. I just attach it and dump the tanks and then put it away. I've seen what happened with a sewer hose that was left attached and a problem with a sewer.... Hope that guy had Ins

I like the newer Rhino two section 20โ€™ hose. One 10โ€™ is all I have needed so far at a dump station. What I like is it stretches out to what you need without pulling back. I have stretched one to almost its max. Then it did pull back some.

I have used the same Sidewinder since 2006. I have read where people do not see its use. I like to think a straight run to the glory hole in the ground will keep solids moving in the right direction during the gray water dump. Just meโ€ฆ.

Two things about the Sidewinder. I only attach it to the Rhino at the beginning and the end of the Rhino because the hose is straight to the hole. No need for other hold down points. Gravity is wonderful. I anticipate how much the hose will flex under pressure at the beginning of the dump and that sag point is where I latch the high side of Sidewinder to.

I carry a 10', 15' and 20' sections with the first two in the bumper and most of the time the 10' is all I need.

Depending on where I park I've used the hose that came with the RIG (about 10' as I recall) a 5 foot extension hose. 10-15-20 and currently 25 foot. The 25 Foot is a "Sentinel" by I think Tetford and frankly I like it better than I Did the Rhino flex jobs it replaced.

I use two 10 foot sections but I also carry two more 10 foot sections that are still in the box. I also carry a extra 50 foot of the white water hose.

๐Ÿ™‚ Hi, I bought the Dominator sewer hose kit with two 10' hoses. While driveway camping at a friends house, I needed 45' of hose. So I bought three more 10' hoses. At 95% of the camp grounds, all I need is one 10' hose. I like the Dominator hoses because they collapse down to 3' each.

Two 10 ft work 99% of the time though we have had longer runs to contend with so we carry extra two 10fters but they're still in the box.

Up until last weekend at a dog show in Louisville a 15' slinky hose has been all I've needed. We were one of thousands of RVs and had a dedicated spot but the sewer was a good 30' away. Moving was not a option as every single spot was reserved with trailers inbound from all over the country and arriving by the minute.

I went to the local Walmart and bought four 10' sections and now have them when ever I need them again. They each came with clamp on caps for when not in use and a 90ยฐ elbow for the sewer connection not that I need three of those.

In the end we can all recommend this length or that but there will be a time when it won't work ๐Ÿ˜‰

I have the 15 foot and the 20 foot kit. I have had to use all 35 feet in a couple of sites. Lets me make ou connection of 10, 15, 20, 25, and 35 feet. Have had the RhinoFlex hoses for 4 years and very satisfied with them.

I've got 2 of the 20 foot kits. Most of the time I only need a 10 foot section, but I've had to use 30 feet of hose twice so far.
