A poll: What does 2 blinks of the left signal mean to you?

You catch up to me on a two lane road. You can’t quite see far enough ahead to know if safe to pass, but I blink left signal 2 blinks on move to the extreme right of my lane. What am I doing?

1. Saying “safe to pass I will help you around” ?

2. Making fake gonna turn left signals like “brake checking” only different?

3. Trying to trick you into a fiery head on collision which I am videoing to sell to the news and u tube?

I'm only 50, but old school. I would know what it means, but after seeing some things on the road now (as we all do) I'm not sure to trust until I can see myself.

If you were in front of me and I saw you do that, I'd think you were:
1. Lost and not sure where you wanted to turn.
2. About to make a wide left turn.
3. Drunk

In any of those cases, I wouldn't pass.

In my opinion, trying to be helpful by signalling like that only adds confusion.

With all the electronically controlled stuff in today's vehicles are you sure when you hear two relay clicks that you have only signaled twice? My car if I push down momentarily on the signal it will give three flashes for a lane change. Same with my truck.

I do this except for the right signal. I just pull to the right but maintain my speed if I think it is safe for them to pass so they can see past me. If I can't see far enough ahead then I stay out in my lane.

If anything, it means that you are going to turn somewhere in the near future, but don't really know for sure where. I wouldn't pass you unless I could see and verify it was safe to do so.

I would think you are pulling a #2.

I don't worry too much about what is behind me unless I'm going below the speed limit.

The only time I see the 'left' turn signal is generally on big semi's as a 'thank you' as I have flashed them that it's OK to pull back over when the pull in front of me after passing.

If I'm going slower on a two lane road when I'm in the coach, I will pull over at the first opportunity to let the string of cars/trucks pass me.

Age 80, I learned to drive in 1954. Back then, truck drivers would use this to mean (1).

Today, I cannot recall seeing any trucker use that signal. And from anyone else, I would never trust it, and would wait until I could see for myself that it was safe to pass.
