Accumulator sizing

Just picked up a new trailer and am in the market for an accumulator tank. In my old trailer I have a Home Depot 2 Gallon job that works great for cutting run frequency and takes care of all the surging. Unfortunately I don't have room for the bigger one in new trailer and can only find a 1 liter and something call a micro accumulator that doesn't tell you how big it is. Has anyone found a middle ground and if so what is it and where'd you get it?

the same one worked for us for many years since that is the only one we had room for.

Hi,

I installed a 1 quart Shur Flow accumulator in my RV just after buying it in 1997. I was really happy with it, and later installed a 2 gallon one to make the pump really quiet. Both worked equally well.

Unless one is doing something very high volume, the ShurFlo is going to be the best solution to this. That, or tossing the water pump and getting a variable speed model.

I have the one in the link and notice a big difference in the smoothness of water flow. Had big pulsating water issues before installation. Had thought about installing a 2nd small one due to not having a good space for 1 larger one. Randu

No but we have the smaller Shurflo tank and it doesn't do much for us. Can't even tell sometimes if it is doing anything but taking up space in the pipeline. I also would like to find a mid size.
