Another CW BAD!

Had to get something out of our rig that has been waiting in line for a month to get fixed. Employee walked us out and opened the door. What you don't lock them? Nope he said. Over two hundred and fifty customer rigs in the lot waiting for service and none locked! Must have signed several pages of CW not responsible documents when we checked in. Hell of a way to run a business.

Are you a lawyer ? And experienced in consumer protection law ??

In most cases, that is true ONLY if the dealer was somehow negligent.
It may take a jury to define "negligent" in each individual case.
I posted that based on cases that have happened in Rhode Island and on statements made in the past by the Attorney General for the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations.

OP here-update. Called Thor to request overnight ship. No problem done BUT in discussing our problem (broken cable rear slide) Thor rep advised CW had ordered wrong part.
CW ordered a slide repair kit consisting of rollers, shims etc. but no cable! Called CW service advisor and told him. Now I can only wait some more.

not locking them saves there insurance company big bucks in damaged doors.

I had a friend who was manager at an RV dealership in Houston. They had surveillance cameras on the lot, and put motion detectors in about a third of the new units, but he said getting broken into was a way of life. They didn't lock the doors for this reason. He said all the thieves wanted was the TV, which of course they had removed from all the new rigs. Once the thieves went through a dozen units and found no TV, they'd move on. We always remove the TV when we take it for service.

I do think a yard dog might be a big deterrent, too.

Funny! Talking about "wrong parts"! I took my Outback back to my dealer to have the front cap repainted (which Keystone agreed to pay) and work was done in a very timely fashion (NO COMPLAINTS).

However, what was suppose to take a week, took 2 weeks. Why? Because the dealer order the graphics from Keystone. They arrived in time and could have been installed within the week. But... when they opened them up, found out Keystone sent the graphic with "Kstone" (Yes, the "e" and the "y" missing on their own graphic name! The dealer had to send them back! Took about 5 days to get new ones. I was able to pick up the camper exactly 14 days after dropping it off. I understand... not the dealer's fault!

Another place I take it, you make an appointment, now 6-8 weeks out and drop it and leave and then they get to it when they can. Needless to say, I don't take it there except to get my propane tank. They told me it would be the middle of the month for me to get to get an estimate on replacing the towbar that came off the toad the other day. So far almost $3K to the front end where it pulled loose and torqued to one side. Pushed the bumper up into the front fenders and shoved them back so that you can hear the doors scrape when they open. Haven't been able to get it up into the air to see what the frame looks like where the base plates fastened on.
Are you saying you took your car to a rv shop for body and frame repairs? Really!:S

I would almost bet Thor did not send wrong part if any part. Sounds like they are just making excuse to put you off.

Why would you go to a RV dealer if you need body and frame repairs???

Might as well go to Walmart.

I haven't used them, as I do all my own maintenance, but in some areas there are mobile RV repair services. Why not find one of those and have your RV repairs done at home? Just a thought ...

I will say that our local CW does lock the doors. Have had worked done numerous times and each time i've gone to it, it was locked.

Camping World's boss man/woman needs to go on Undercover Boss and take a rig to different CW repair shops......oh, wait.....the show is a fast turnaround show. They'd have to wait 6 months to find out if the boss' rig EVER gets fixed!!!! This is sad. CW is a great idea, however, if you don't follow thru and DO what you advertise, you WILL lose business. Can you imagine what the profit would be if they did what they said??????

Especially since there is no quality control at the factory, which expects the dealer to make up for it.
This is the heart of the whole problem. Way to many manufacturing defects are left for the dealers to correct. Apparently true of almost all RV manufacturers today. Inferior workmanship and sub-standard quality. :R

Was needing work done on the MH and called 5 dealers in the area that were recommended by the warranty company.... all 5 said to bring it in and just drop it off, they would get to it in a couple of weeks. Are you kidding me? a couple of weeks just to trouble shoot it... not fix it. Called a mobile RV guy and he was there that day. If there is such a backup at dealerships then what is out there is manufactured junk, or the shops need to hire more people. Just have a RV set on their lot is not making them any money. Fixing it is.

I'm in the same camp as others. Tell me the day you will start work and the day I can pick it up.

I don't drop my truck off and wait a month for service, why should I do it with a RV.

I guess others might view it as cheap winter storage.
