I am looking for a battery powered clock, alarm, weather radio for the bedroom cabinet. Can be just battery back up.

Otherwise, needs to be reset every time power is lost for a moment.

Thanks

I THINK most of the Midlands have basic full function when on battery power...

The only concern would be if you aren't hooked up a lot, you might burn through the backup batteries a bit fast.

We use this ACURITE atomic set desk clock (WALMART)...
Never cared much about having a radio near the bed...

I also use this RADIO NOAH WX ALERT RADIO wired into the 12VDC using one of those multiple tap DC power plugs. Think this one needs 6VDC to operate. I went for the cheapest one I could find and this Radio Shack model 12-260 fit the bill for me just perfect. It is nice a loud when the alerts are set. It does have auto search for the closest NOAH transmitter when you first turn it on. Since you are moving around the country the specific COUNTY ALERT feature becomes useless..

I have the Midland WR-300 weather monitor. I have never used the alarm function but have been happy with it otherwise. I even use it at home because it alerts to all kinds of hazards and you can program in counties, type of hazard and so on.

We bought one at Walmart for around $20....works great. It is not one of the well known names. I think it is Cosmo, something like that. We have had it for 3 years now. There is quite a variety out there. Walmart would likely cost less than the electronic shops. Our last one was a better known name and didn't last a year.
