I sometimes get tickled seeing people talk about "boondocking", and wondering if their aircard will get a signal in the boonies...

I live in the boonies!

I go camping to get a good signal! ๐Ÿ˜„

I go camping to see PEOPLE! LOL

Its funny what "getting away" means to different people..

Yes, our Verizon air card gives us internet connection in the 'boonies'. There are so many towers out there now that we are rarely without internet and we're in the 'boonies' a lot. We never watch TV so that's no concern. Happy camping wherever you are!!

I use my OTA BAt WING and do pretty good picking the Natl Broadcast digitla signals just about anywhere we go here on the East side of the US.

For internet we use the VERIZON MIFI 2200 unit which give us a WIFI hot spot within 100 feet or so from the MIFI unit. This works anywhere you can get a VERIZON cell phone signal Works out great for us...

We are also avid internet users. TV....we have a old antenna on the roof (choose not to have cable or sat. TV) WE have a land line phone...neither DH or I have cell phones. (will get cell when we go fulltime next year.) We live IN the city of Vancouver and can hardly wait to hit the road and do alot of boondocking. May 2014 can't get here soon enough for us!!!

While I am an avid user of the internet, I have come to the conclusion that the most enjoyment can be found without TV, internet or cellular signal and one of my goals is to decrease my dependency on all three.

We are blessed to live in the country on acreage. It is not lost on us that we effectively choose camp parks that allow us to give our gravel lane "country kids" a taste of what it feels like to live in the suburbs. Look kids! Close neighbors and pavement for bike rides!

My smartphone has data. I'm good away from wifi for a few days. ๐Ÿ™‚

It is all relative. I know people who want (and demand) Wi-Fi signal at their RV parks so they can do the relatively expensive downloads of Windows updates and other items there. Then, there are people like me who just want to unplug and get away from that, and are content with whatever they can get from a fairly far away tower.

๐Ÿ™‚ We live in an area that has few neighbors, and most of them aren't friendly....and yet, when we camp we want to be even further from people. LOL I figure, those that love to camp one on top of each other must live in apartments and are afraid to be AWAY from people. ๐Ÿ™‚

Sounds like us. Elfrida is one hour away from anything. Chatanooga for you and Sierra Vista for us. We go to Tombstone just to see the BIG city. Now moving to Congress, AZ. Prescott still an hour away. :B
