Clearing slide-out roof before leaving camp

How do you all clear off the top of your slide out before leaving a campground? We were thinking that a broom might eventually damage the rubber roof. A small light-weight leaf blower would work, but it takes up space in storage. So what do you all do?

Maybe, I've never had anything come inside so I figure it's got to be pretty small and inconsequential. 🙂

The main thing is it keeps the tree sap, acorns, and pine needles off the top of the slide. Maybe some leaves blow in, but not a big deal.

Well I guess I am the odd man out. I have never cleaned off the slide at a campground. I asked the dealer when I bought it and he said that was what the slide wipe seals are there for. Maybe I've been lucky but in 4 years with a slide and not clearing it before I leave, never a problem. I do know mine has an inner seal, the wipe seal and the outer seal.

Tie a damp towel in the middle of a long rope and pull it back and forth over the slide.

I would like to hear if anyone has a method of cleaning them from the ground as I am getting too old to be climbing ladders. Have looked all over for a telescoping type brush that can be turned horizontal to brush off the slides but cannot find one.

I sweep mine especially if we're under trees. And I wash them when we get home. Needless to say they're still a nice bright white.

I use a mirror on a pole (awning lock pole actually) to see if it NEEDS cleaning. If it does I use a folding stepladder to get high enough, then a brush with extendable handle made to wash sides of TT while standing on ground. Works great.

Oh, it works to wash the TT when home also.

I clean our slide out every time we retrack it. I clean it from the inside. I take a long handle duster (cheapy one works fine). Take two cloth type paper towels and lay them flat. Put the duster over them and wrap the towel and fasten in about three or four places with masking tape to hold tight. Some times I even have to tape the inside of the place where it tears. Then I lightly spray the whole thing with Endust. I then wipe the slide out from the inside.

I do have to get on one side of the bed and DH lets the slide out for me to get there and then he brings the slide in for me to wipe. You'll be surprised how dirty the paper towel will be. The slide in the living/kitchen area is tight but I can get the duster in there. After a rain storm this also helps dry the slide too.

I toss the dog up there and tell him to find his treat. The leaves are gone in seconds.

Bribe the neighbors kid to climb up and sweep off the top for you. Just make sure he doesn't fall thru a sky light or vent...

I use a California duster on a telescoping pole. Even with the toppers you still get dust and small stuff, like cut grass and etc. I stand on a 6 ft. ladder and dust it off.

I don't do anything. Some stuff comes in with the slide, then goes back out with the slide.

If I am being lazy, I use a water hose on one end and wash it off. Not any different than it raining on it. Most of the time I use a broom
