This was a great Year for us and our Rv adventures. This is our 1st full year of retirement.
We spent the 1st 3 months in fl. at our snowbird spot. Had a great time there. Once we got back to Mi. we made a few spring trips of 4-5 days each about 180-250 miles from home.
The middle of June we met the DW's brother and SIN on our Mi. west side (they came out from Ca.) in their 26' TT we spent 3 weeks with them and our Oldest DD traveling up the W.coast of Lk. Mi. then into the UP and left them to head home from Escanaba.
I asked my DW where she would like to go on a late summer / fall trip and she aid she would kie to see the Ca. Redwoods and maybe the Grand Canyon and of course stop in Vegas along the way
We left home and drove through our UP again and across the northern US stopping for a few days in Philipsburg Mt. where we had lived for a year in the early 80's. We continued on and again met up with her brother in Walport Oregon where we stayed a few day along the coast exploring areas around Newport. Then down the coast to Cresent Ca. where we spent several days exploring the Ca. N. coast and the redwoods. We continued down the coast and split up from my BIL around Auburn Ca. where he lives.
We meandered our way across Ca. and stopped in Vegas also saw the red rock area. Then down into AZ. and the south rim of the GC. where we spent a few days. We left the GC and stopped in Albuquerque and the Balloon fest. then south through Roswell NM. staying for an afternoon to see the aliens.
Carlsbad caverns were next and if you have never been they are well worth the visit. From Carls bad we went to Ft. Worth then angled our way towards home for the next week. Our last stop was Sipsehwanna Indiana and a good comfort food meal with the Amish.
All in all on that trip we drove 6700 miles towing and 8,000 miles total on my truck. We saw a huge amount of Elk, Deer, Prong horns we even caught a glimpse of a Cougar on our way out of the GC. a wonderful trip.
We just returned from a favorite hangout in Manistee Mi. where we spent 5 days.
The end result has been a great Camping season for us no major troubles or break downs. We are looking forward to heading out to Fl. right after Thanks giving. Our Lord has been kind to us allowing us to be on the road for about 5-6 months this year.
How did your Year go I hope it was a good one.
