We are just curious, if you are workamping or park hosting in a national park or COE, are you being asked to leave due to the govt shutdown?

I wounder about all the words, "go pound sand". If everyone would remember we voted most of those people into office. I for one have been trying to vote them out and replace with someone who has never been in office. They have not been working for the people for many years. They get paid, benefits, health insurance and much more. And yet they say they can relate to us.

The whole process is to show us who is boss, and I thought they worked for US.
While there were attempts to keep the parks open they were rejected so we would feel the pain. There are privately financed parks on Federal land that are being shutdown these were not closed the last time there was a shutdown. Why now?

Here at Table Rock Lake the Rangers asked each visitor to leave if they refused then licensed officers would be brought in and the removal process would continue. Bottom line is that the utilities would be shut down, restrooms locked, and entrance gates locked. If your property were still inside the gates you may have problems getting it out until this issue is resolved.

There is a simple solution to the pound sand idea.

Turn off the power and water.

Our "ownership" is not quite as simple as you would like everyone to believe.

If you want to test it, go on in and let us know what happens to you.:B

Easy. Call the guys with the badges and the guns. You are trespassing. You will leave, either on your own, or in the back of a patrol car.

Yes, these lands belong to us, but when they are closed, you will be asked to leave. At that point if you refuse you could be charged with trespassing. Only the courts could decide if the charges would stand up.

I would also guess law enforcement would have to be at a federal level, and that would be more serious than locals.

If everyone refuses, then it could be an act of civil disobedience. Marshall law.

You question does pose an interesting scenario.

I would guess that Law enforcement would want to "squash" it before it got too big or out of hand. Got to keep us "peons" in line you know.

The folks in Glamis where issued notices when they parked in the "Prime" parking areas a week or so before the popular camping weekends. Then the vehicles that apreared to not be camped in where towed.

My guess? Once a couple of huge tow trucks show up, the rest will be moving with greater urgency.

To bad for a couple, say they parked the trailer at the lake, she stays there while he goes back to work during the week. They will have to move pretty soon.

We're site hosts at a day use area in a USFWS Refuge and we're allowed to stay. No work, come and go as we wish, just keep the gates closed.

We Volunteer for the COE here in Branson, Missouri and all parks around Table Rock Lake they control have put the guests on notice they have until Thursday morning to leave. The cleaning and hosting couples have had to redefine their contracts, but they can for the short term remain on site and direct their efforts toward a security role. All parks and boat ramps under the COE control are closed as of Wednesday, October 2, 2013. All employees are to begin furlough as of Thursday, October 3, 2013 and Volunteers such as us can remain on site for now.
