Don’t Use TSD Fuel Card In Oregon

User beware
First use,and strike number one.

Received our settlement statement from TSD.

Apparently, Oregon is the only State that charges and
additional .36 to every gallon of fuel for PUD tax, so instead of the
2.13 a gal posted on the app, it turned into 2.50 after everything.

Should have gone to Fred Meyer.
Just an FYI

Thanks, I almost always buy fuel at Fred Myers or 3 Feathers in OR.

And Frys with their points in AZ for us. Frys has a 35 gallon limit. And we love those gift cards like HD etc especially when they have double fuel points. Like I'm going to HD anyway and there are a variety of great gift cards for the family.

For all of my fuel purchases except TSD I get a 5% monthly cash rebate on the CC which is why I don't use the GS FJ card.

Thanks for the heads up but please provide more detail. Are you saying that the TSD listed fuel price in OR does not include the 36 cents?

Correct... The lady at TSD says it is in their contract under the “ State Guidelines “
It was not listed on the app

Does the station display price include that tax? Since we're usually on the coast and With very few TA TSD stations in OR, not sure I've ever used TSD there.

Station display price was 2. 75

Went to Petro in Phoenix ... Price listed on the app was 2.13
When I got the settlement statement, it came out to 2.50 per gal so I called

AZ has a 8 cent tax on trucks which you don't pay with the TSD card. Otherwise you have to tell them you're a RV so you don't pay.

Correct. Have to do that with our Flying J card in Az, but Smith’s, with our points is much cheaper, or Costco/ Sams in Az

It's getting to the point, where they are going to start an OOU tax...Oregon Oxygen Use Tax. Guess I shouldn't say that too loud, you never know who's listening.

Not every station gives the discount, has to be one in their system. Got an email on it a week or so back. Current best price is T/A. Where did you fuel? Did a quick addition and have saved about $800 so far this year and will likely be $1000 before years end, this being a bad travel year or it would be way more.

I think you mean PUC permit. You will see diesel prices posted at stations and on some web sites that do not include fuel tax. Often stations post the untaxed price and say "w/PUC." The fuel tax for truckers is based on several things including weight, number of axles, etc.

The PUD tax is Oregon states fuel tax (road tax), if diesel, did you grab refer fuel instead of truck fuel? Refer fuel isn’t taxed, and is dyed red.

Hi. No. No refer. S15 I believe Or B5/10
Apparently that little gotcha it is buried somewhere in their contract.
Didn’t read it, and not upset about it

Just letting others know who may not be aware and haven’t read it

i know PUD is 'Planned Unit Development' but that makes little sense in the context of the post.

Planned Unit Development

That seems really odd that the state of Oregon applies that across the state as it is usually within a very specific and limited geographic area such as a new housing development, Shopping center or along those lines and generally relates to the development plan about what can and cant happen within the PUD and even then I personally have never seen a PUD tax. I have seen a PIF (Public Improvement Fee) to help pay for infrastructure in a very specific area. Say a new shopping center that required some additional infrastructure then all retail business in that area charge a PIF (which is not a tax) so if you also have to pay sales tax the PIF gets taxed as well. They are usually for a very specific boundary area and for a very specific time period.

This does not make sense are you sure it was a PUD tax, if so must mean something different than the normal definition of a PUD
