Fantasy RV or Adventure Caravan Tours?

Has anyone had any experience with either of these RV tour providers, or any other such provider?

Their brochures and websites look very interesting, but the tours also look very expensive.

We have gone the Fantasy route and found it to be great and very professional. At first blush it seems to be expensive, but after you figure everything in it's not much more than doing it on your own. We did the Rocky Mountain Parks tour, which included a dozen or so "sit down meals" at very nice restaurants, guided bus tours where the bus picks you up at the RV park and returns you there at the end of the day, and of course reserved camping spots and class A parks all the way. The price also included travel insurance. The word caravan is over done as you are not required to caravan, you are given the address to the next park with excellent directions and you are on your own to get there at your own pace. Of course, you can caravan with others if you want. There was no way we would have enjoyed the trip as much as we did if we had not been a part of the Fantasy Tour. Yea, it did cost a littler more, but in the end, considering the great time we had and the peace of mind of not worrying about camp sites, etc, it was more than worth it.

Thanks for all the comments. They helped us decide to sign up for our first Fantasy rally for the 2-16 Rose parade.

We did the Fantasy RV tour of Washington, DC this spring - we parked the motorhome at Cherry Hill RV Park and Fantasy RV took us everywhere in a tour bus - we didn't have to bother with DC traffic and parking, and saw things that we wouldn't have bothered with if we were on our own but we're glad we did them - case in point: they provided tickets to a performance at Ford's Theatre. If we were on our own we would have never spent the $55 per person to see the play - but we thoroughly enjoyed the play and we're glad we did it.

They provided meals, entertainment, and entrance to everything with no worries about schedules, etc. As has been said, they're not for everybody, but we've done several over the years and we'll continue as time and money permit!

X2 we really enjoyed the Polar Bear tour a few years ago. The fantasy folks did a fantastic job, Given that it has to be later in the year for the Bears and most CGs are closed a tour group is the only way to RV that direction!

We used to run caravans for Tracks to Adventure which was bought out by Adventure Caravans. My observation is that Adventure Caravans will generally cost more on a particular caravan than Fantasy Caravans, but they tend to do more and include more items. In other words you get what you pay for. Both companies will provide a good caravan experience.

We have done a number of Caravans,Mexico(2)Alaska,Europe,S. Africa and Canada.We enjoyed everyone of them.Their are things you see and do that are not available to individual RVers.For instance in NewFoundland we attended a number of church dinners,minstrel shows etc that were just put on for us.Boat trip out to a mussel farm with grilling right on boat etc. They're not for everybody but you'll never know unless you try it.We were never required to travel in a caravan per se.Leave the CG at a certain time and arrive at nxt CG by a certain time.Especially if their was a dinner or a show planned for that night.Yes you do run into people that you don't like but you don't have to hang out with them .We traveled mostly with Adventure Caravans

Used Fantasy Tours for the Rose Parade in 2013.
They had their act together as they had been doing this for years.
No problems!!
Would highly recommend them to see the Rose Parade!!!!!!
A would assume their other trips would be just as good.
Also, I made a lot of points with the wife!

I did one caravan tour and found it to be unsatisfactory for me. I understand for some they are quite good, but I found I was paying for things that I would otherwise not do (and didn't enjoy doing them), so for me, it was not a good value.

You got me curious so I checked them out. Not my cup o'tea, and you're right: they are high dollar for sure.
