Fire Smoke CO detectors

Happy Sprring and RVing everyone! Getting ready for our first trip and was checking out all systems. Folks, beside changing you fire smoke and CO detectors batteries, make sure the unit has not expired. Check the date on the back and discard and replace. Have a happy and safe season.

Dont forget the date on the propane detector. Those things die of old age also.

Your right on the co detector. I replace the batteries this week, went into the unit yesterday and thing was beeping at me. Read the back of the co detector and the beeping was a signal that it was not working correctly. They do go bad.

Also,, if you are doing that,, remember to check your extinguisher and shake it to break up the powder.

Good advice. Remember, just cause they still "beep" when the test button is pushed, does not mean the unit is functional. It just means that the beeper still works.
