Found it somewhat rude.

Camped four nights at Blue Springs SP last weekend. Was leaving headed for the sewer dump and a fifth wheel kind of pulled out in the road as I was approaching. OK, he was ready to go, bad timing. He had a friend on the roof holding some branches away from his side (tight hammock-needs trimmed), they clear the branches, fifth wheel stops and is blocking the road, friend climbs down, disappears around the side. Fine, friend probably getting in truck.

We wait and wait and wait 5-10 minutes, now two more RV's behind me. Nobody honking, every being patient.

THEN the friend who was on top pulls out in HIS TT/truck who is camped on the other side; the fiver was blocking so they could both go down to the dump station together.

Thought it rude. I would not hold up traffic so my buddy could get in line. I went home and dumped with my macerator.

Sorry, I don't see anything rude about it. If the assistant didn't have to climb on the roof to protect the trailer, he would have been right there with his own rig. Why should he be at the end of the line just because he had to compensate for the short comings of the campground maintainance crew? Your frustration should be directed at the campground, not it's paying guest, who had to take extraordenary effort to protect his property.

EDIT There are two ways to avoid the dump line. One costs more, and one costs less. You can spend an extra $10 and find a campsite with full hook-ups, or you can boondock it and find an empty dump station on the way home.

In that case it was just plain rude.

It is rare in campers when compared to the general population overall, but it does happen.

The percentages of rude, inconsiderate people doesn't change just because you're in a campground. I try to ignore as much as possible. Not always sucessful, though. Camping is a character building experience.

I think it was rude.

However, you were less than 10 miles from home.

If it was early in the day, why not leave later and avoid the crowds at the dump station?

When traveling we always hit the road about 11:00 a.m. and virtually never find anyone at the dump station.

Not worth getting knickers in a knot over. Everyone is anxious to get home. Sadly, thing is society has made us into an "all about me " bunch of people.
Just write the experience off and give yourself lots of time in case you experience this type of person again.

Maybe they thought they had a good reason for their actions. Or maybe they just are selfish. Hard to know sometimes what people are thinking. I'm glad everyone kept cool and didn't let it ruin their day. I suspect I would have been honking or walking up there to tell them what I thought. You're a good man.
