Got to give Forest River props

I am going to try to make a long story short as my fingers type slow.

Last fall my unit was scheduled to be brought back to the factory for an exterior wall issue repair/replacement(cosmetic), about a month ago when I pulled it out of hibernation I stepped inside and heard a loud "pop", upon a quick investigation it became apparent my laminated floor had let go by the entry. I immediately informed my contact at the factory prior to bringing it down there about what had happened and showed them as well when I dropped it off.

It took almost four weeks for a decision but was informed today that they are replacing our fifth wheel :C. Now it goes to sales and am waiting to here from them. I will also give Leslie my contact at the factory props too as she has been very responsive to my calls and emails even though she wasn't the decision maker.

Turns out it was a adhesive issue and I think it's on the adhesive manufactures dime.

Wonder if they couldn't of just stapled/nailed down 1/4" luan plywood over the existing floor and then glued down new floorcovering over that ?

Gotta say in over 25 years of RV'ing, this is the first report I've read of a manufacturer actually replacing with a new unit.

Op here, finally we received our new replacement unit last Wednesday and would have updated sooner but we were busy packing and setting up the unit :).

I also need to give our dealer at Terry Town Rv in Grand Rapids props as well. While my contact at the factory was awesome and responsive, she was just a contact and not a decision maker. After about 6 weeks of not much happening (Dealer at this point was not involved, just us and the factory), I called the dealer to see what they could find out. More happened in the next three hours than in the last six weeks after I notified the dealer. So all in all it took about 10 weeks from the time I brought it to the factory for repair, to the decision to replace, to when we received our new fifth wheel replacement.

Once they decided to replace, I had them upgrade the wheels to 16" vs. the 15". They also threw in a second AC for the front bedroom! They had a unit down there for replacement and I'm guessing it had the second ac unit on it already.

After hearing all the horror stories out there I'm happy to say there are good dealers out there and Forest River stepped up and did the right thing.

It's been awhile since I posted at pic, hope this works

Funny part is my Forest River Wildcat went back to the Prime Time factory. In fact the Crusaders and Wildcats look very similar in certain areas. Maybe they come out of the same factory - who knows

I think the reason it's getting replaced is because there was a known bad "batch" of adhesive that was used and our unit fell in that timeline, I'm guessing it was cost prohibitive to replace the floor and they will sell it as is. If it was a general soft spot where it wasn't a adhesive failure, I'm guessing they would try to repair it.

Either way I am very happy at this point.

We were so happy with the support we got when we owned our Cedar Creek that when we were ready to upgrade we were looking at another non Forest River brand but heard about a new higher end 5th wheel line they were planning, well we waited and got the new River Stone Legacy and are very happy we waited
Kudos to Forest River and Wildcat for making things right for you!!!!!

I'm sure not every fr customer is happy but I certainly am. Prime time ( fr owned) helped me with several expensive issues - some off warranty.

I have never heard of that before. Congrats!
When we were looking for TT, I watched the "Letters" and Action Line" sections of Trailer Life magazine very closely. I found that FR often went out of their way to take care of the customer.
So when it came time to buy, that carried a lot of weight and we ultimately did by a FR product. There were a few minor problems but they took care of every little thing I bought up - even adding some trim in places that I thought it should be.
And, it's been a great RV.

I'm really impressed they're replacing it. Of all of the stories, it usually takes a manufacturer threats of legal action before acquiescing to it. And, when they do- there's a gag order put as a condition of the deal.
