our T/T shower puts out a blast of COLD water when in the shower. I can have the water regulated to warm shut the had held shower nozzle. then when I turn it back on burrrrr its cold for a wile then warm. is there any way to fix this problem, I have been told it's a regulatory thing. there must be a way to make it be warm all the time.

That is fairly normal.. Most RV showere when you RESTORE flow after cutting it off you either get blasted with HOT or COLD. The solution...

Oxygenics shower heads come with what they call a "Smart Pulse" cut off valve. it allows a small "Dribble" of water when in the cut off position.. Seems to prevent this blast issue.. THe shower Cut Off Valve I have also does the same thing.. Exactly. with the same result (it was sold as a shower cut off valve.. The old valve was a quarter turn valve that fully shut off the flow. And I had the blast issue when restored. But the dribble valve does not.. I'm thinking the smallest drill bit you got through the ball of the valve might fix it. I mean the smallest (i'm an electronics tec so my smallest is ... SMALL )

Like Dutch said. This is normal. Check valves in the hot and cold lines to the shower control are the answer. Been there, done that.

What's happening when the shower head valve is shut off is the cold water is pushing the hot water back in the line so when the valve opens you get a cold blast first. AWESOME I'm going to look into this.

I use SeaTech check valves, but SharkBite, etc., probably have them as well.

I wouldn't do that if you live in areas of freezing weather. But that's just me.

We have the opposite situation. It blasts out scalding hot when turning the shower head valve back on...ouch...stand back...

Same problem, same fix. Add a check valve at the cold water inlet to the faucet per my previous post.

I installed a valve similar to THIS on the valve base to allow the water to trickle. Solved our problem. Plus DW is too short to easily reach the shower head cut-off valve so this solved that as well.

Ours does that too unless ------ start out with the hot water faucet turned all the way on - let the water get HOT, then slowly add cold into it until you have the right temp. We were turning both hot and cold on about half-way like we would in the house and that didn't work. Try this and see if it helps.

This is usually the way I turn it on but I'll check to make sure.

Supposedly that's what the center hole continuing to shoot water out of when you use the water saver shutoff on the Oxygenics shower head prevents. By have a small continuous water flow, the temperature stays the same.

I'm going to check this out.

I got the temp just right between hot and cold mix and put a piece of red vapour barrier tape on each tap top to mark where they should be.

Doing navy showers, I set the taps and turn on the shower away from me then use it when the temp is right. Shut off and turn on, no problem, aim it away until it is safe to aim it at yourself (or anybody with you ๐Ÿ™‚ ).

If your's is the original shower head that came with your camper, then "yes", that is just the way it is. You can always replace the shower head, even those on the end of a hose with any household conventional shower head or shower hose with head. The pipe threading is 1/2 inch, same as any household shower head or hand held shower wand.

You could even attach one of these and then you'd never have to worry about cold first, then warm....

the garden hose nozzle would be different but i'm not sure the nozzle is the problem.? see above post
