Just curious to see what's the common or ave hours on any particular Gen weather its in your MH TT or portable one you use camping?

We bought a used 2001 GS in Nov. of 2012 and the gen only had 37.4 hours on the hour meter but had 31K miles on the OD..
The 2013 Nexus we have been looking at has 89.9hrs on the hr meter and 10,800 miles on the OD..

Can anyone join in here, even us 5 wheel guys? We have a Boliy 3500ESI that ran for 3,500 hrs over three years before the carb's stepping motor crapped out. Didn't have time to mess with it so we bought a pair of Champ 2000 inverters. The Boliy is repairable and will be fixed up this coming summer.

Cheers!

Wow , Awesome replies !
Yep usually went out once a month fire up the gen turn all lights on, plug a heater in and watch some TV for 1/2 hours or so. Since I have directv in the house I crank up the antenna and watch metv channel that the directv doesn't get.
Figured the heater along with the TV and all lights on would be enough pull on the gen
Warmer months run the a/c for awhile and do the same thing.

I have a friend thats a RV repairman. He was salvaging a MH, with Onan gen. Marquis, 7000, with about 400 hours. I did some checking and found that 400 hours was nothing on a generator of that sort. He installed in a Generator ready Cameo. I crank it up every month during the winter, and keep batteries charged. I run 2 to 3 hours once a month, so I don't put a lot of hours on but really handy to have.

We got a new one this spring and between breaking it in and exercising it, there is around ten hours on it. Haven't needed it camping yet with the solar.

Our 2011 Tioga had 34 hours on it and about 22,000 miles when we got it in 2013. Run it every month for 1-2 hours under load. It now has over 100 and about 30k on the odometer we have had it 1 year now

We average just over 100 hundred hours a year and after 7 camping seasons we have 755 hours on our Onan. We love to boondock and also camp in extreme temps while off the power grid. When we need to run AC or a couple of space heaters we just hit the genny switch and immediately have all the power we need to run our entire rig making every trip comfy and cozy no matter what's happening outdoors.
