is what I want to do. So how do the rest of you that are FT or ET do it (keep it clean...your rig). We will be traveling around the south next winter and will need to clean ours occasionally. Thx.

We use Wash and Wax All. We wet microfiber clothes to clean the dirt off and then spray on the wax.

This is what we do too. We will ask permission at campgrounds first, some say yes and some no. There's usually a place in a town we're traveling through that we can pull into if the trailer looks really bad.

We have always been able to wash our 5th wheel when we want to at a campground. Always ask first. We wash the bugs off the front cap after every travel day. We always ask and never break out a hose, just a small bucket of water and a brush. if your rig is not too dirty, you could try a "dry wash" product that you spray on and just wipe off. Some people use a mobile wash company and many campgrounds seem more likely to allow this than washing its yourself.

We have had no problem finding parks that allow you to wash your rig. Most have well water and aren't paying city fees. Even some with city water will let you if you pay the fee they charge. We have found no problem in smaller private owned parks, corp of engineer parks, forestry parks. There are even a few that have RV wash stations. Just depends.

Some places will allow you to wash the rig, but these are the exception. I carried a couple of bottles of Meguiars Spray Wax and used that after cleaning. Those places that didn't allow cleaning, I just used the spray wax, using a damp old tee-shirt for the application/cleaning and a buffing cloth afterwards.

Keep an eye on billboards..there are a lot of truck washes that also advertise RV washing. Not as good as a real handwash that you would do at the house but will keep it presentable for the trip and not a total wreck to deal with once you get back home.
