I don’t really care cause my mh has a washer. But I’m still down here in Yuma and am told the laundromats are closed! What is a person supposed to do? It’s not only snowbirds that use these. I’ve seen lots of young local people in them. I can’t believe that these wouldn’t be considered essential.

Will not know until the year is over.
Only then can we compare how many were saved and if that has value.

Ok to volunteer at your local hospital or charity in the mean time.

Even when the year is over there will be no way to know what difference any of this made (I’m not saying it isn’t). All of the predictions are estimates/educated guesses and all we’ll have at the end is the reality with whatever path we chose. We cannot redo it and see what difference it made.

Yep. That's just how crazy the country and local governments have gotten over what is going on.

This government is FAR from being crazy over this. I'll bet the OWNER of the laundrymat decided he liked his family ALIVE and WELL. See....he's the guy that cleans and maintains the place he owns.

You people talk like COVID-19 is a death sentence. It's not. You've got about a 99% chance you'll survive, and if you don't it's probably because you didn't take very good care of yourself. I'm not the least bit concerned, but you'll be living with the damage to the economy for years.

Yep. I've been saying that all along. People think that if they contract it they will die! Fact is they may get sick....or they may not feel anything at all, maybe just worn out or tired.
The only people that need to worry are the elderly and/or unhealthy. If your in one of those categories stay home!

Um, laundromats are no more essential than clothing. Just saying . . . .

Most of the RV parks I have been in have their own laundries. With the cost of them & not knowing how clean the machines are I installed a Splendide. It paid for itself after the first year.

In Arizona, laundromats, as an essential service, are allowed to remain open if they exercise the proper precautions. However, essential businesses can close if they decide to do so. There is nothing in AZ laws or the governors Executive Order that forces a business considered "essential" from closing. So, you may see one close and another open. The only issue is businesses ordered close are eligible for state assistance but as an "essential" service not ordered to close, if they do, they can't get state financial-economic emergency assistance.

I watched a video from 1975 today. It was Carson and his guest was Steve Martin.

“My cat came home all dirty yesterday so I decided to give him a bath. People say cats don’t like baths. Don’t believe them. The cat and I both enjoyed it. Only thing about it was the fur kept getting stuck to my tongue!”

If the hypothetical owner is so concerned, then there's absolutely no need for the government to tell him or her to shut the place down; they can just use their authority as the owner to decide to not open the laundromat, or maybe hire someone else to do the cleaning. I suspect, though, that for every owner who's relieved to not be open, there's another owner of another laundry who would really prefer to have the income to pay for the lease, property and business taxes, health insurance, food, and so forth.

Not that I know of. But bathing is not as necessary if you maintain social distance ??.
