We carry two orange cones with us and with the addition of two lawn solar lights our steps are now lighted.

I bought them $15.00 strip LED lights... 16 feet long, white. no controller needed.

One went under the awning
other one I cut to fit UP under the steps.. and wired to the porch light .

No moving, No plugging in. always ready.

I painted a white enamel stripe around the top front of each step to define it - it was amazing what a difference just that made! But the solar-lighted cones are a great idea!

For about $10 I bought an battery operated, LED light with a motion detector. It is way brighter than a solar light and only goes on when needed.

I would trip over those cones for sure. No way I would block my steps like that....just me tho ๐Ÿ™‚

easier to put a small lantern behind the steps. lights them and no clutter. easiest if you don't want to fool with rewiring etc.

I installed an amber LED that is on it's own cirquit, has a switch to turn on and a switch that is used for the warning light of the bed of the dump trucks, steps retracted light off, steps extended light on if the step light switch is on, amber so that it does not bother us when we camp in the desert and off in most camp grounds, to much light from security lamps and neighboring rigs.

My MH came with a step light,(if I remember to turn the switch on), but ilike that idea, rather unique. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I've got a step light but I sometimes forget to turn it off when I get back, so I rarely use it. If it's that dark I usually carry a small flashlight, but mostly it's rarely that dark courtesy of all those strip lights, awning lights, and assorted others.

Hey, let's not make fun of step lights!:) My FW came with a LED step light, that comes on with the porch light above. I almost always use the step light, as those black steps are hard to see at night, especially when carrying my fur kid out for last call before bedtime.

Looks good to me....

On many motor homes the steps are automatic electric retracting and extendinjg, On these there is (Believe it or not) often a light that is supposed to light 'em up when the door is open (NOTE THE PHRASE SUPPOSED TO) It works so well I never noticed it till I happend to stick my head UNDER the RV in the right area.

I took two LED "Accent lights" and mounted them on the top step (of 2) one on top shoots out level over the top of the step and the other (Below) shoots down onto the lower step.. Work great, use the same power lead as the original.
Home was where I park it. but alas the.
