Made it...finally bliss!!

Just got to the southern shore of Lake Superior in Michigans UP. The drive up (Northbound) was quite relaxing compared to the bumper to bumper southbound traffic on US 127 and I-75. The lake is in our view about 100 yards away. I won't bore everyone to death with the significance of this trip, but it has been a year in the making to get here today for 2 weeks of R&R. I hope everyone had a fun filled and safe weekend.

We are truly enjoying being here. Some sun, some rain, temps around 60. We're loving it. I even slept until 7 am this morning. I haven't done that in a year. Got into a good book yesterday, will finish it today.

Yo are early for fall color, but you might see some by the middle of the month. I hope you have a wind breaker and a good hoodie. Evening and mornings are going to be down into the 40s, maybe even high 30s.

You will have most places to yourselves !

No issues at all. We did hold back from leaving to try and hit the bridge around 3pm...hoping the traffic would be manageable by then. Probably could have left an hour sooner. I had the Bridge Cam site on my phone and by 1:30-2:00 it was all cleared.

I'm jealous. We were planning a trip there this summer, but had to cancel for family reasons. Hoping for next summer. Enjoy!!

Excellent. Did the closing of the bridge today cause you any issues. Some friends of our walked it today. We were up there about 3 weeks ago. Went to the Soo Locks. Whole family enjoyed it. Enjoy your two week vacation.
