Most durable cover against snow shovel damage

Hi, I don't usually shovel snow off my covered trailer but this year with 2.5 feet up there, the springs visibly flat from all that weight, and more snow and rain forecast I decided to.

I got most of the snow off but despite my careful efforts I managed to put several tears in the cover using my plastic show shovel. It's so hard because with so much snow it is hard to find the structures like AC and vents where the fabric is most vulnerable.

I may repair but it's several years old so maybe time to replace. I don't know which fabric I have now but it's ADCO, gray, with a top layer that feels slightly "fuzzy" and has a pattern of tiny holes through the top layer. I don't know if it's Tyvek or AquaShed.

Is there a particular fabric or a manufacturer that makes a cover that is very durable against accidental damage by snow shovels?

I use a roof rake. You still have to watch the vents.

Leaf blower.

While the snow is fresh, and before it starts to melt and stick together, blow off what will blow off.

You really don't have to get "All" the snow off the roof, just a percentage of it. So you don't have to scrape each A/C, ect. Just move away what you can.

What about using a broom to bring the snow to the edge?

Good luck, and hopefully it will be warmer soon!

A cover that has rafters works best.

No cover is going to stand up against a shovel.

Stiff brush broom sounds like the right tool and I'll definitely use that next time.

Still looking for recommendations for my next cover with regard to toughness against accidental tears.

We did not have 2+ feet of snow up there but we used our long handle soft bristle car wash brush to pull it off.

DH ALWAYS used a stiff bristle broom....... Are you living in the trailer during the snow? If not, you might try putting a tarp on the roof that lets you "flip" the snow off. If it's windy in your area that doesn't work well, but if the trailer is in a protected area (from wind), you might try it.

You should probably use a stiff bristle industrial type broom instead.
