need advice on replacing tires

I'm getting ready to replace the cheap tires on my 2013 Gray Wolf that I bought new last year. I'm pricing the Maxis and will probably will go with them but my tire dealer is pushing some ST tire called Green Max which I've never heard of. There quite a bit cheaper than the Maxis and he claims there a good ST tire. I'm worried about them to say the least.

Has anyone here heard of them? If so what do you know about them? I sure don't want to open the proverbial tire can of worms but I want some good advice.

A light went on and if that is your suspicion then I would not go back to him. He is putting his interest over yours. Not something you want from your dealer.
Seriously think about it

Further thought is that since they are Chinese made by a Chinese company there is not a corporation doing Quality Assurance to make sure the compounds are formulated and applied properly. At least with China made BRAND NAME tires theoretically the corporation putting their name on them is checking to make sure the tires conform to their specs

I respect your opinion however he has gave me the best price yet on the Maxis so I can overlook that he is just trying to look out for his bottom line as long as I do my homework.

As the man said "Since you are paying you gets ta choose".

Make sure you tell him you want a recent date on those tires nothing over 4 months old otherwise you will expect a further price reduction

I switched from ST to LT's years ago and will never go back ST's. If I had to choose between those ST's and the Maxis, go with the Maxis.

They are good for the dealer as he probably is getting an incentive to push them

If it were me, I'd stay with what I know worked well. I had Maxxis on trailer years ago and they were excellent. I just replaced the OEM tires on my Minnie with a set of Maxxis. You have to wonder if the dealer isn't looking at a higher profit percentage by pushing another brand....unless he can really tell you why they are better and back it up with some data.
