New Sheets

I bought some new sheets. The fitted sheet has a piece of slightly different fabric sewn in on both the top and bottom ends. It's about 10" wide and runs the width of the sheet.

Anyone know why it was made that way?
Yep, actually drove to all of these places---in the last eight years. Missed Rhode Island and New Jersey.

It's a re-enforced section so toe-nails don't rip the sheet when you sleep on your stomach
Is it time for your medication or mine?

On mine it's stretchy fabric so the sheet fits better. If it's not stretchy perhaps is cut on the bias for some "give"... ??

Not sure, but my guess would be that it's there to be decorative when the bad is made with the comforter folded back. It's on both ends so you don't have to worry which end is which.
