No new story tonight.... How boring is that?

Well, here I am in FREEZING Calgary Alberta, still....

Another week goes by, temperatures have dropped dramatically in the past couple days. Dang its chilly here now.

It is minus 24C here, and dropping. (-11F) But ahhhhh I am warm in here, furnace runs a lot but it's comfy.

No stories tonight, no more butter in the heat ducts, no more black tank flowing on the bathroom floor!! Nothing! No mishaps or anything..

Tried pulling the cork on my grey tank... forget it, can't even get the cap off the dump pipe. Oh well, I'm still ok for now.

My electric heater conked out a few days ago, the fan seized up. Oh well, plugged in my backup heater and put up with the obnoxious racket it makes for about 3 days now. Argh! No more!

Rather than launch it out the door, I went to the nearby Rona store to buy a nice quiet radiant heater. Thank you Don, you're awesome!

But the thing was HUGE, it occupies a lot of real estate in my skinny walkway past the kitchen. Me and my size 12's would be tripping over it every time I went for a "P".

So I bought a nice compact little Honeywell fan forced deal. It is RED! My favorite color! But the fan is whisper quiet. It will suffice until I find a small sized radiant that doesn't occupy half my living area...

Meanwhile, my furnace still gronks when it starts up. Too danged cold out there to pull this puppy apart and fix it. It's still going, for now.

Anyhow, how boring is this? Ho Hum! Nothing funny to report! BORING!!!

On the lighter side, I treated myself to a nice prime rib buffet dinner last night and then went to a show, one of my favorite old bands from the 70's.
Chilliwack! Yeah loved the music as a young man so I went and enjoyed a bunch of the old tunes. Jerry Doucette was there too.
Great show! Man they are all old and grey! Those who have hair that is!!

My entry door needs new weatherstrip to try and cut down on chiseling the ice off the door frame so I can open and close it. So I bought some today and got back here. Fuddle Duddle!!! Too blinkin cold to work here with my TT door wide open! Ahh maybe later.

Now I'll go see if I can break something so I can write another story!

Have a good evening everyone!

LOL you guys! haha!

Speaking for myself, not sure about "tough" Stupid? Yes!! Lol!

Tonight and this weekend will be a test for us. Going to be nice and balmy for me. Don isn't so lucky.

For me it's only going to be -33C overnight (-27F) and Saturday morning a wind chill of -42C (-43.6F) Well well, what am I doing in an RV?? Smiling, laughing, thats what I'm doing. Yup, maybe a little crazy. But I really am laughing in here! :B

I might have to zip up my jacket at work tomorrow. We'll see, depends if it gets cold out. Don't want to be a wimp you know.

But Don, he has a little bit of a chill coming his way, makes me feel like I'm in the tropics!

He gets -39C (-38F) Saturday AM and a wind chill of -55C!!! Yes!, that is minus 55C (-67F)!!! Awwww c'mon it's not that bad..... Well, maybe it is.

Man after seeing what Don has to endure, I'm going to head to work in my shorts and a t-shirt! haha!

They can have a 'soup night' once a week with an open invitation to drop by with a crock of hot soup and a bottle of propane ๐Ÿ˜‰

These guys are the Sherpas of rv life :B Just when you think you've survived a cold spell, take a look at these guys and know...they are carved from some tough stock!

Hang in there guys, Spring is a short 6 months away ๐Ÿ˜‰

Might want to bring them a bottle of something else to keep them warm along with the propane.

Hi Bob,

While I do have an oem 30 amp and two auxiliary shore power cords (20 and 15 amp), I'm using a 50 amp connection at the campground with a "break out" box.

I'm probably paying less for the campground on a per week basis than Bob is for propane.

I have no idea how Don (Pianotuna) earns enough money to buy propane. Who the heck gets their piano tuned in the middle of winter?:h

LOL on the special interest group! Like Don says, we are charter members! :B

Don has 3 shore power hookups. Electric heat minimizes propane use. I likely spend ten times what he does on propane.

I have one shore power hookup, a single 15A circuit.

Hi,

Bob and I are charter members! Entry into the group requires you to have camped at -30 C (-22 f). Preferably without using more than 15 amp power.

BTW I have not burned ANY propane since I returned to Canada on Jan 22. Except for the fridge sipping some when some how the 30 amp cord got unplugged! (now, where is that bungee cord....).

I am looking forward to the warmer weather so that I can start surviving on 15 to 30 amps, instead of guzzling 5000 watts at a campground.

Tomorrow night (2014 02 28) the forecast is for -42 C (-43.6 f). Unfortunately I'm not in the RV--but I'd definitely need my propane tank heater (not that I'd expect to use any propane--but to keep it in "back up" mode if the power should fail.)

Pianos are suppose the sound good in the winter too. Plus it's Canada, you either work in the winter or the three weeks in August when it isn't winter. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Looks like we are about par.
Wind chill on Saturday to be -32.
A might nippy indeed.

I work outside all day in it though. After about ten hours out there, I pack in for the night.

When I get back to the TT my feet are like ice cubes, so I pull off all my winter work gear and put on my sweats and slippers and sit at my dinette. There is a heat outlet right there so I put my feet on it until they warm up. Ahhhh feels sooooooooo good!

A good cuppa and a hot water bottle does wonders. Last night I canvassed for heart and stroke again and came in frozen. I was wishing there was a nice warm coal fire waiting for me...no luck!
Good old "Jeff" just announced this morning that it is going to be very cold all across the country into next week. Can you have a fire outside anywhere? Our neibours are from the rock and have a fire outside every chance. Pretty well every weekend one will be going all day.

The good cuppa does wonders, especially with a shot of rum in it! After work hours of course.

I am set up in a warehouse parking lot - ice covered asphalt paradise! No fires here man! The only fire I want is the one in my furnace! LOL! When I'm done for the day, it is inside where it's warm. don't want to venture back out again.
I do like the heat outlet at my feet as I sit at the dinette! Feels soooo good.
