Is it necessary to close them during storms?

I have only put mine in a couple of times in extremely high winds as the slide topper awning was trying to depart the rest of the coach.

The slide stays out once I'm set up. I'll roll the awning up if it gets windy.

I leave them out if I'm set up camping. Closed when stored or not using. Now if there are Tornado warnings or 8" of snow coming I might rethink leaving slides out. Randu

If it's really windy, I close my big slide because wind will lift it. They're more commonly known as slides, or slide outs.
