What kind of water do you use in your portable ice makers, saw that tap water and distilled doesn't work well for very long..

Why wouldn't distilled water work well? Seems like it would be the obvious choice.

Distilled water is one of the only things that will corrode stainless steel. Good for you, but not good for many metals.

NO it will NOT

your are thinking of De-ionized water

Ah, you're thinking of De-ionized water, not distilled water. Two slightly different animals. Distilled water will not corrode stainless steel, de-ionized water will.

I use bottle drinking water in mine. Best thing I ever bought for the Colby T. So much better than carrying an ice chest.

We have a Brita Filtered water pitcher that we use to fill the ice machine. Takes the nasty tatse out of the ice. Going on three years with our machine and no problems
