I want to start covering my 5th wheel and need some input on what to look for in a cover.

And of course some recommendations.

Thanks

I used an ADCO for many years before it was finally so eaten up by mice (never got in though) that I tossed it. I'll probably buy another one in 2017.
If you get into the trailer at all during the off-season, I suggest getting a 'custom" ADCO. That way you end up with a door or doors exactly where you need them.

OP back, Another question on the covers, how hard is it to take off?

I have a number of things to fix in the camper over the next few months so the cover will be coming off a lot.

It's a pain in the butt ... but it is what it is, easier with two people, one on the roof and one below to help prevent it from snagging as you pull the material up on to the roof. Same for installing it - much easier with two people. I've only ever used mine for winter storage - put it on once late fall, remove it once early spring - no way I'd use one during the camping season.

I use a Sunshield tarp with silver on the one side and black on the other and flop it depending on the season. It covers the top and part of the sides depending on what size you buy.

If you're willing to pay the cost there are a number of manufacturers who offer custom fit Sunbrella covers but I've always used less expensive generic fit ADCO covers and have had no issues. Each time we changed trailers I easily sold the cover I had and put the proceeds toward a new one of the correct size ... works for me. ๐Ÿ™‚

Very happy with my ADCO cover, available at Amazon. Keeps my RV clean and protects it from the sun in South Florida. Doesn't leave chalk like marks like others I have used.
