ReserveAmerica Refunds

I received and email from PA State parks telling my reservations had
been cancelled due to the Cov19 shutdown and they were reimbursing
me.

The email also stated that the refunds were going to be handled
through ReserveAmerica.

Well, 16 days later I'm still waiting for my refund.

Has anyone received their refund and how long did it take?

(PS: how come it takes so long to refund a CC but takes hours to
bill the CC for a reservation?)

OP here:
I have to apologize; After calling ReserveAmerica, I realized that I had
booked under a credit card I rarely use and sure enough, I had been refunded
within 3 days of receiving the email.

Refunds are normally a small part of the daily operations of these companies. It's not surprising that it's taking a while.

I received the same email stating how much would be returned. I have not been credited yet. Realize they are processing every reservation made for the month of April across many different states.

We had a problem with Recreation.gov. We had to call them before we received our refund. For some reason they were showing that they had already giving us the refund. A phone call got it straightened out.

State Park in TX cancelled me 2 weeks back and Reserve America refunded my credit card ($250)3 days later.
I've been to all 50 States but my RV hasn't.

Reserve America is just a processor.

What did the credit card statement was the vendor making the charge? The last time I used RA, the card was charged by the state park department.

And refunds are made to the credit card charged for the reservation.

Another possibility may be that the number of refunds being processed is stressing the RA system.

As for your last question - a reservation is not booked until the CC company acknowledges the funds are being held for payment to the vendor.

A refund sometimes takes the credit card company longer to process. They are setup to send you money out, not take it in.

My COE cancellations refunds were approved by the Recreation.gov contractor, and did not show up in my Amex account for about three days. Amex wants the money 'in hand' before they will credit me.

Sixteen days you’ve waited? Gee, maybe they are behind. Maybe their workers are staying at home. Is your fast refund that important?

Our Georgia State Parks RA refunds took about 3 days as well. I think our Recreation.gov refunds took 4-5 days...

Don't know about Reserve America but I have experienced a delay in receiving a refund on returning an item to numerous retail stores.
In your case it may be the state's delay in refunding the payment to R.A.
