New MH stated rusting on jacks especially springs. HWH jacks, parked 10 days at onceanside park. Will salt air cause rusting problems. How can I prevent without avoiding parks close to ocean?

OSPHO (marine hardware store/commercial fishing store). Put some in a spray bottle and spray rust. Let it set until the rust turns black. Paint desired color. Directions and warnings on the bottle. If you refwuent the beach area paint with zinc chromate after treatment with OSPHO, then desired top color.

Living within 500', not elevation, of the ocean everything rusts. Give it a chance even plastic will rust.

Salt air is tough on everthing & if you get a storm where the spray from the waves becomes a fine mist getting blown inland you need to get far inland to get away from it. Oceanside CGs are nice but they are even better when the wind is blowing offshore.

Rust & corrosion is why all fasteners on boats, worth buying, are made of stainless steel. Saltwater boat owners are forever washing their boats. The salt gets everywhere.

There is only one way to stay ahead of salt air and it is by washing the rig, and using Fluid Film on everything metal (even aluminum.)

Salt air is tough on stuff - you have to stay ahead of it. Like Chris Bryant said, rinse often with lots of fresh water. I go underneath all the vehicles with a can of Rust Oleum Rust Reformer which is available at WalMart and most other hardware and big box stores. I goes on like flat black paint, and seems to keep the rust pretty much in check. They make a heavier duty "commercial" version of the same product, but you have to get it from an industrial supply house like Fastenal or Grainger .....

I hate to say it, but parking oceanfront simply will destroy the rig. I've seen rooftop air conditioners turn to dust in two years, frames shot after a few more years.
Best bet is to thoroughly wash everything with fresh water- *everything* underneath and up top.
