Geeze, it's going to take forever for gas prices to reach $3.00 a gallon if it only drops a penny at a time. One station drops their price by 1ยข. Several days later another station drops by a penny, etc., etc.. Grumble, grumble.....:R

I bought 20 gallons at .58/gallon. Yep, 58 cents a gallon. It was some type of promotion from Winn-Dixie, a grocery store chain. It involved mainly moving over some prescriptions over to their pharmacy and buying some groceries there. I put in an additional 33.5 gallons at $3.42 which is about 6 cent above the cheapest places around here. Felt very good. The pharmacy matches the Wal-Mart price, so we lost no money there. We do not have to keep the prescriptions there for any set time.

Prices are still continuing to drift down. According to Gas Buddy, price per gallon of gasoline varies from $3.54 to $3.64. Hoping the prices drop below $3.00 by August.

Remember 3 1/2 years ago, gasoline sold for $1.79/gallon. Hopefully, we will be able to get it down to the $2 range when we release the American entrepreneurial spirit and the new technology of fracking and 3 dimensional underground mapping. She will get the permitting processes streamlined from a decade to less than a year like it used to be. Also people will not have to be concerned about a mud puddle in there yard being declared a wet land. The winners will be the American people and the losers will be the mideast sheiks. Take a look at the recent polls and the direction of the movement of polls. "Most likely" Don't think so.

The war on coal and oil is self evident. EPA is doing everything it can to stop fracking. This will probably happen right after the election no matter who wins. It will be repealed on Day 1 when our new president takes over. Oil prices now are below $90 mainly due to world economy worries which kill demand.

Interesting vid, tomman. A couple of thoughts off the top of my head.

The UK has a heavy tax on each liter of fuel purchased. The tax issue is bogus. Our government could simply raise the tax rate on each of the fewer gallons sold.

High efficiency engines have been around for quite a long time. But as fuel here has been cheap until recently, there wasn't much demand for high mileage putt-putts in this country of commuters.

But the most influential factor today is the unbridled EPA, whose goal is clearly, clearly to cripple this economy, which runs on energy, by declaring war on Oil, Coal, and now Natural Gas. It has long been lead by folks who literally put mice above men.

And I'm not blaming the current administration. Both parties have allowed this cancer to spread for decades. Remember, we've had 40 years to address energy problems and they've only gotten worse. This, in a country that developed atomic energy, only to see the rest of the world benefit from it.

If oil companies had half the power some folks credit them with, do you really think EPA would even exist? Our energy problems are completely government sponsored. You are correct to blame the Congress. It is afraid. Afraid to take on the environmentalists, or the oil companies to the extent they play a role. And they will continue their mishandling of our economy as long as we reward their utter incompetence by sending 90% of them back to the trough even though they can't even pass a budget in over three years.

I am not much for copying links but here is one that will anger you IF true. I was not able to verify with Snopes but if real you will be upset. I would blame all of congress because the oil companies rule and not because of the tax for holding these vieicles back.
