RV on Fire and dog trapped inside

I don't know if this has been posted before. Sorry in advance if it has.

I'm still in shock just from watching a live feed video of it all as it is happening. Put tears in my eyes.:(

It is a 'very long' video (be patient and watch the entire video) captured on a permanent dash cam on a fellow campers MH, but it shows an RV unknowingly start to burn and what 3 fellow campers did after miraculously turning and seeing it on the dash cam to run and put out the fire and they did save the dog trapped in side.

Incredible video and lastly the pictures of the inside damage due to the fire is shocking.

JUST AMAZING. And it goes without saying just what can happen to our RV's and also the question of leaving pets alone in an RV.

KUDO's to those campers that didn't think twice about running to try and put out the fire of a fellow RV'ers coach and try and save the dog they knew was inside. :C

I've always felt empathy for people and pets living in fire traps. Good luck.

Achilles was a hero, you know, like when he killed Hector and then tied the corpse to the back of his car and dragged it around the walls of Troy.

Lost me. I'm not up on this particular Greek myth. If that is what you are talking about. If it is , when the the Greeks get cars ?

We have all seen pictures of MH's that have burned and all that is left is an eerie shell if that.

I was impressed that these people managed to not let that happen to the guys's MH. They stayed on top of it until the FD was on scene.

Had they not did what they did and just waited for the fire department that MH would have looked like all those other horrific pictures we've seen, i.e. 'nothing' left.

Ditto. What a terrific job on what could have been far worse.

I'm still nervous about all rv refrigerators.

Yep! Definitely a refrigerator caused fire. I wonder if that country RV mechanic down in Texas has seen this? Probly not, cause RV fridges don't have problems just those from a S&B cause problems.

Those folks who responded deserve a big steak dinner for the job they did. And saving the dog was the icing on the cake.

Nice story with a happy ending. I'm glad there were people around there to help.

I leave my dog in my TT in a kennel when I go places. I can't take him with on a hot summer day he would quickly get over heated in the pickup. It is a risk but, so would be leaving him at home.

Save my pet sign to me, means at any cost! Bust the window, crow bar the door, what ever. I lock my RV, and wouldn't care what you did trying to save my dog. I wonder if the recall fix were done on his fridge?
Not everyone carries a crowbar and the Rv was engulfed in 12 minutes. Buy the time it takes to get tools and pry open a door or brake a window your pet will most likely be expired.

I hope neither of us has to deal with that situation. My Collies are the most important thing I have in my RV and usually they go with me when I leave to go somewhere.

These people did a great job of reacting, and notifying the FD ! When I see these acts by people reacting to an emergency situation, it re-enforces why it is so important to keep yourselves in "decent" physical shape. Maintaining some type of strength and cardio training not only is is good for us, it allows for the assistance of others in time of need!

Very good to see the actions of these fine folks allowed for the saving of the K-9!

There are some folks in the media who get labeled "heroes" - and I just scratch my head. Meanwhile, TRUE heroes like the folks who fought this fire, made sure the fire department found them?? Standing ovation! THESE are heroes (especially to that poor dog!)

We always have pets in the fifth wheel.

How about the stick home, should I box up the three cats and load up the two dogs in the middle of the summer when i leave?

Above is my defense for having pets in an unoccupied RV.

Anyhow we never lock the RV if it has critters in it. A chance we take for the animals that are a part of the family.
