We have a beautiful RV. I call it my portable Ritz Carlton Suite. But for the past 40 years I have traveled for business and pleasure staying in hotels. I have flown over 3,000,000 miles and stayed in hotels thousands of nights. Not one time have I ever seen or been bitten by a bed bug. At least not that I knew it. I love staying in our RV on trips. We are at a small rally right now in AZ. But!, unless you gotta sailboat too your not going to Europe, Asia, Australia, Hawaii, Africa, Antarctica, New Zealand, England, Galapagos, Santorini, other Greek Isles, Tahiti, Bora Bora, other paradisiacal south Pacific Islands, and so on.
There are so many great places to go and an RV will only get you to some of them. Plus there are many many hotels and inns that are lovely, historic, or luxurious. True air travel these days has sunk to abysmal comfort level. That is what martini's are for. For those of us who are non-drinkers, such as myself, treat yourself to first class in USA travel, that gets rid of 90% of the travel bummers. On international routes you just have to go without baths or showers for two weeks before your travel date. That clears away some of the people. International air by first class is totally overpriced and not worth it. You just have to grin and bear it. Put Paris France on your bucket list and just go. Or Sydney Australia, a truly gorgeous city.
So stop whining and buy some Rick Steves books or DVD's. If you can afford it and have the time, travel is one of the only things that is fun and good for you.
