Space saving ideas

New to the forum and thought I would share. Hubby and I own a 19' Hardside Trailight with the beds that pop out. We have had it for 10 years. We get out at least once a month on the weekends with friends. We winter camp it's fun to watch them plow out the snow to park the trailer.
1.Bathroom on the door I hang a clear plastic shoe rack for all of those little things that take up room.
2.Kitchen 3M hooks hold a 12" piece of cloth tripple folded for strength. I put button holes in the material and that is where I hang all of my pan scrapers and wooden spoons. I use two rows, bottom row is between first row for spoon head room.
3.Basket for Oil, vinager, that kind of stuff in fall everything goes in house and gets used up during winter then replaced new in spring. If we do winter camping it is ready to go.
4.Space bags are great for the bedding not used often.
5.Have a little cupboard that I use for can goods. Again 3M hooks I
made a cloth strip with pockets that I use for plastic grocery bags.
6.I made my own shade cloth for the awning, with hooks and everything was less then $50.00.
7.I make bags to hold many things that go into storage area to keep it neet and together. If you don't sew, onion and potatoe bags will work.
8.I use a double sided fishing tackle container, one side fuses and bulbs, the other is for sewing any mending that I do on the road.

Thank you for the great ideas. Welcome to the Forums. Lots of good ideas around, don't hesitate to share them.

Please take the criticism with a grain of salt. Everyone gets a public spanking for some infraction. Unless you make a habit of breaking the rules, you'll get used to the banter around here.

back on topic!!!!!

we utilize containers and trays and such that fit well into cupboards, like square ones so they fit together side to side better, with this unit we went and bought a bunch of new stuff, (like for pancake mix, rice, and other dry goods) they all fit just right in the pantry cupboard with little to no waisted space.
I also added shelves as I am not stacking stuff 14 inches high which was the distance between shelves, small packages and spice jars we got little trays to keep them organized neatly, and from moving around in transit.
I spent a whole weekend plus a little going through our fiver after we got it and making small modifications for practicality and convenience, we went to 3 different stores to find the "right" sizes of containers and trays to fit into areas and utilize the space the best as well to reduce the mess that can occur after a bumpy ride, the past 3 trips we have been making minor adjustments and probably will for the next couple till we have everything set up just right.

Yea - we run a tight ship here.... everyone follows th rules and can even quote them from memory. We also have the new member super dooper snooper squad. These members fully investigate a new posters threads immediately upon seeing one and ensure the appropriate spankings are handed out to the least of offenders.

welcome, micheleh!

as a suggestion, the trailer you have is a Hybrid Travel Trailer.
there is a Hybrid Forum here devoted to your type of trailer and its unique features.
you'll find lots of helpful info and posts there for your hybrid.

Michele - Welcome to the forum! You have some good ideas especially the one where you put the cooking oil, vinegar and condiments in a container that's easy to remove when the camping season is over. Your use of the 3M hooks holding a towel for the kitchen utensils is good too, will tell my DW about that one.

Seriously? I thought Bobbo's post was helpful and kindly worded and I see nothing wrong with what was said. I've been on this forum for a very long time and trust me, I've seen WAY worse. Welcome, Michela. We camp in a conversion van, so space saving ideas are always appreciated. :B Hope you enjoy the forum.

I don't want to make a bigger deal out of this than it is but as a fairly new forum member myself I know it's easy to get nervous when you first attempt to post a message. I was so nervous and found myself posting in the wrong forum, etc. It just seems to me that there is a kinder way to "help" someone figure things out around here. I'm also willing to concede that perhaps my own nervousness makes me too sensitive.
