When you use the Tenns unit does it give you relief ? If it does definitely get some new batteries and carry on. If not I would suggest you find another doctor. I have lived with lower back pain for over 20 years. Had one surgery where they went in to relive spinal stenosis and they ended up replacing my 4/5 disk with one made out of bone tissue mixed with my blood. Lasted a little over 11 years when I fell and the whole thing desintigrated severing one nerve and seriously pinching another causing me to be paralyzed from the waist down for 4 days while they decided whether it was even feasible to try surgery. Thankfully they did and I am able to walk again with support. The back is not something to fool with. My problem with Tenns units is that I am allerject to the adhesive they put on the pads. 20 minutes at the most and then they have to come off. SIL had a similar problem and he had one implanted in his back. He says it helps but still in a lot of pain. Good luck to you.
