The Tenns unit I have operates on two reechargable AA batteries. It doesn't operat very long and requires constant upping the adjustment to get relief and finally give up in less than an hour.
Do they make a unit that is 110 or than has longer operating time battery units?

When you use the Tenns unit does it give you relief ? If it does definitely get some new batteries and carry on. If not I would suggest you find another doctor. I have lived with lower back pain for over 20 years. Had one surgery where they went in to relive spinal stenosis and they ended up replacing my 4/5 disk with one made out of bone tissue mixed with my blood. Lasted a little over 11 years when I fell and the whole thing desintigrated severing one nerve and seriously pinching another causing me to be paralyzed from the waist down for 4 days while they decided whether it was even feasible to try surgery. Thankfully they did and I am able to walk again with support. The back is not something to fool with. My problem with Tenns units is that I am allerject to the adhesive they put on the pads. 20 minutes at the most and then they have to come off. SIL had a similar problem and he had one implanted in his back. He says it helps but still in a lot of pain. Good luck to you.

Guess I'll be using one a lot. New pains same sources. Pain Doc apparently dumped me. Said go to ER with pain.
Get so tired of this stuff.
Still on pain killers, without the last several days.....

Won't cure anything but certainly can't hurt. Can't do diddly about anything anyway.

Get some new batteries. The old ones are on their last legs. Mine last several hours with no problem. There are lots of different brands on the market. Do a web search for tens units and you will get hundreds of choices.

My tens unit runs off a nine volt battery.. it last for months. Maybe something wrong with your unit is my guess.

I couldn't find the exact one that I have but look at these. I bought mine from this company and it works on ac power and battery (I have not tried it on battery). The interferential units go deeper and work better IMHO. Interferential Tens
