Heard on business news this morning that RV sales are booming. Good for the industry but possibly bad for those of us who are already finding it increasingly difficult to find campsites.

If you camp in a tent your summer camping season may be shot or significantly delayed. However, many places are opening up to self contained units. We just found a campground about 30 miles from home that was almost full this last weekend. We are planning to work in our camper at that campground next week using our cell phone hot spots, we will have a lakeside site and the campground to ourselves until the weekend.

When we were tent camping something like this would have moved us to an RV sooner rather than later.

I imagine there are many people who love camping that are willing to move to an RV to continue the tradition.

I don't believe it. The industry was in a severe downturn, particularly the motor home segment. Most of the growth preceding this was in cheap towables. With the summer camping season shot, and record unemployment, I think it's just a cheap PR stunt to goose the market.

85% of the working population is still working!!!

X2!!

And on top of that, a lot of those people are:

1) Working a lot of mandatory overtime $$$

2) Were given $2,3,4 hr raises just because.

My sister works for a grocery chain. Beginning of April they told her she gets $2hr raise because of the Covid.

PLAIN STUPID!!!

I talked to a Trucker friend and asked him if he does anything different or deserves to be treated and differently, NO and NO!

Funny thing is I stopped at the Foxy Lady Coffee Stand and talked to a Bikini Clad Barista that was quite intelligent. She said "I would have never considered a Bikini Barista being ESSENTIAL".

No mask, No gloves, No 6' distancing but she did have the essentials covered. :B

You are assuming there will be a position to restore...If you have to find a new position, it's easy for people to game the system.

I'm working from home, full time for now, and my wife has been home since early March, but she is getting full pay till the ned of the School year..

We realized just how much we can save by not going out... it's incredible ... So, we basically are better off now, then we were.. DW is doing all my to-do list at the house and I am working...

Well we traded our gas A for a diesel pusher. My sister traded their 30' for a 32' trailer.
So yes in our little part of the country people are looking, buying and trading in rv's.
Granted many are furloughed, small business's are going under, but in our house $ are the same but the hours are unreal.
My husband salaried for for 45 hrs a week, is working from home putting in 80 hrs a week. Banking, so many using online banking, systems crash, so many calling, systems crash.
With so much government money for small business's cyber crime off the charts. Some nights he is working at midnight, 2 AM.
May not be a first responder, but behind the scenes doing what he can so people can use their debit and credit cards, that personal accounts and data are secure.
A whole lot of people are affected by this. A whole lot of people stepping up to the plate to do what they can for others.
Be wise, stay healthy and be safe.

Looks like sales have been booming here in PA. I window shop, and I've noticed since May 1 when auto/rv sales could resume, that the new and used inventory of a large multi-location dealer is just about depleted. Its not Camping World. March and April were of course dead and prices were lower. I think you could only buy online at that time, with home delivery. RV Trader is also showing fewer units in my area.

I guess its pent-up demand, along with some folks making more staying at home plus the stimulus cash?
