TT is under 8.5k loaded.

Tow TT with Generator running to keep dogs cool using a extended cab pickup.

Or

Tow TT with dogs in tow vehicle, requiring a Van or perhaps Suburban. Van or Suburban will be limited to just the TT we have, not much bigger because they don't seem to be rated higher than about 10k.

Any other choices other than some uber expensive custom job?

Looking for ideas.

Try riding in your trailer, while moving.
I think you'll change your mind about forcing your dogs to to suffer through it.

If you can fit the people in an extended cab then a crew cab will hold the dogs too. Check the size of various makes. Ford supercrew has lots of rear legroom. Ram megacab?

Unless these are huge dogs?

Here's what we had when towing a TT.

I had a campershell (cap) put on the truck with a pass through Boot between the back window of the cab and the front window of the campershell.
I attached a 4 foot wide one inch thick piece of plywood long enough to fit from side to side on the campershell lip/ bed rail. I placed 2 inch foam rubber on the plywood and covered it with indoor outdoor carpet. This provided a bed for the two dogs. They used to lay there and look out the through the pass through as we drove down the road.

The air from the dash A/C kept them cool and they could walk around on the bed. I kept a non-spill water dish on the bed in the corner.

How far do you travel? Take two vehicles!

When we bought our TT 5 years ago, we had a crew cab pickup to tow, a minivan, and a small CUV. Traveling 3-5 hours wasn't always pleasant with just 5 people, no pets. Since we preferred traveling with 3 rows of seats of the minivan, my wife wanted a 3-row TV since that's how we were planning to spend lots of our travel time. And that's how we got a 2500 Suburban as my DD replacing the CUV and pickup. Within 6 months I decided 60 miles a day at 13mpg is not budget friendly, so my wife took that and I got a 40mpg car. Sometimes looking back I think we could have kept the minivan, kept the crew cab pickup, and just gotten the high MPG car. 500 miles round trip in that is insignificant compared to a new Suburban! We could be taking two vehicles very easily for passenger comfort.

I fit 5 people and 3 dogs in my crew cab last week. Not fun or something I care to do frequently but it's doable. If you run a generator, I'd buy one of those remote weather sensors and monitor the trailer temp. I'd hate for the genny to quit running, throw a breaker or whatever and kill the family pet. My $.02.

I keep a remote thermometer in the RV now, I don't allow it to get over 80 if the dogs are inside, with or without AC a fan is always blowing on them and they have lots of water.

That said, the TT isn't the best ride in the world, and I worry about them.

Keeping them in the cab isn't possible, I've wondered about bed topper and something to cool that area.
