Tire pressure sensors

I have an add on tire pressure system on my rv. I recently got a new truck with built in tire pressure monitors so I took the 2 add ons from my old truck and put them on my spare tires on my rv. I tried to reprogram the monitor with the changed locations and also removed and checked the batteries. When I tried to reprogram the monitor I cannot get it to recognize 3 of the 6 sensors. They worked fine before I started. Now I do not know what to do. I am getting a headache from reading and re-reading the install instructions.....

Do you have them attached to the valve stems when they are near the monitor? Some systems turn the sending units off if there isn't any air pressure against them... ST

I have replaced the batteries, I have the monitor right beside the camper, some read and some do not. They were fine last 3 months ago. My rv is indoors so they are not exposed to the elements. I have also removed and replaced them. Air escapes when I remove them so I know they are contacting the core. I wonder if there may be a way to clean them?

If your spare tire is tucked up under the rear of the trailer the signal from the tire is not getting to the receiver. On the other tire monitors that are giving you trouble try taking them off and re seat them again. I had one with a similar problem and that solved the problem.

Where are the spare tires located? Rear bumper? Possibly not a strong enough signal from the sensors to reach the location of the main monitor... Could just be weak batteries in the sensors - might be an easy fix. I know that TST makes a repeater for their units for very long rigs... ST
