Trailer tire reviews

Been away for a long time and even longer since I bought tires for my fifth wheel. Years ago I bought a set of maxxis tires (who knows how long ago, I can't remember). The tires themselves look good, no checking and good tread. Thinking they are older than 7 years, I'm thinking of replacing them. Back when I bought them, people were raving about them and after all these years of use, I can see why. My question is, since technology changes at such an alarming rate, are these tires still the way to go? What other tires are good quality trailer tires that are dependable? What do most people run on their trailers and why? Thanks in advance

Which brand ST tire works best depends on your trailers size and load range. Ask that type question about tires on a pickup and you get tire brand recommendations all over the spectrum. Same here.
With over 30+ members reporting Maxxis tire failures and you want to stick with another ST tire I would look at the new gen L and M speed rated ST tires like the Providers........Goodyears Endurance......Carlisle HD. Higher speed rating are more about the tires ability to shed heat ....not how fast you can run down the road.
However no more than your trailer is on the road more Maxxis will work.

Your Maxxis ST tires has a dot date code which tells you exactly how old the tires are. Go by that date. Any ST tire over 5 years old I would sell them on CL. Lawn service guys are always looking for a cheap tire for their trailers.

I've got about 600 miles on my new Goodyear Endurance load range E up from range D and haven't noticed any difference in the ride. I do have the MORryde suspension.

My OEM supplied DURO bias ply lasted about 2.5 years. All had separated belts, just one let go.
Maybe radials are better.

I'd buy the Goodyear Endurance LR E. Made in the USA and your trailer won't know the difference between C,D, or E. I've had good luck with E rated tires.

If you have 6 lug wheels you also have the option to move up to 16" wheels and tires where you have a better selection of choices.

Timely discussion...I'm looking for new tires for my TT....GVWR 4536KG...10,000lbs. It uses ST 225/75R 15 tires.

Factory tires are rated C and I wanted to move up to D range but my local tire guy has recommended Duro A/S E 2100 E range. (never heard of Duro before....anyone with experience with this brand?)

Haven't seen any reviews yet but Goodyear just introduced the Endurance ST tire, which is made in the USA. Other than that I would stick to a truck tire on my trailer.

INMHO, Maxxiss is the way to go.

If you have a 15 wheel then Maxxiss is the only choice IMO. However, if you have 16" wheels you have many choices and I would go with a good LT tire.

I am not as excited about Maxxis anymore. Mine did not quite last four years.
Same with the previously recommended Denman Express. (3 years)
Now I am on to the new Goodyear Endurance.

If your trailer is big enough to to go 16" by all means get some LTs.
Either way I recommend a load rating that covers the full trailer GVWR.

If you have 16 inch wheels you can get Bridgestone Duvaris R250 LT's, people seem to really like Sailun tires as well if you have 15 inch wheels.

I just ordered a set of Maxxis this week after researching the same. The 3 that stand out on the forums seem to be the Maxxis, Sailuns, and Goodyear G614s.

It was hard to find local dealers that sold any of those in my area but I was able to buy the Maxxis online, direct from the factory. They are on sale 25 percent off right now (in Canada anyways) and they ship for free.
