Truck Side Window Shades

Now that we're getting into long multi day drives we've found the sun cooks whoever is on the sun side of the truck. Hence I'm looking for recommendations for side window shades for our F150, most of what I see on line look pretty small. Maybe some of you folks that live in sunnier climes then us have some ideas.

Maybe something along these lines?

What about buying a roll of window tint, and taping a piece over the offending window?? Granted, tinting would be better, but here in Michigan, it's illegal.

Get the side windows tinted, this will make a huge difference. Not sure what the laws in your state are but here in Alabama I tint my front side windows as dark as the OEM on the rears. Keeps the vehicles cooler and more private. Tinting runs around $100 for the front windows.

Are tinting laws different from state to state?

We use a disposable self-sticking plastic windo tint. It comes in rolls you can cut to size, sticks via static, is easily removable and cheap. Windows roll down and up without removing.

EDIT Available at most auto parts stores, Wally World etc.

They are just shades, you can still see through them, at least I think so!

Wife uses a kitchen towel draped over the window in such a way that she does not cover the mirror for me, I use the pull down shades that hang on the window and have a suction cup, she sometimes uses the shades too, the over hang of the cab over is really nice to keep the sun out and the sun visors also work to keep shade on you.
