I have another question, but not solar. I just purchased (on order) a new gulfstream vintage cruiser 19ft ERD, single axel. Weights about 3000lb. I have been told that I shouldn't use a weight disbursement hitch (it could bend the frame) but I should use a sway type hitch. But I was also told that the wt disbursement hitch is ok as long as you stay within the weight limits of the trailer...Confused

I recently purchased a new 19’ Vintage Cruiser and towed it 750 miles home with my Grand Cherokee. The dealer installed a Blue Ox weight distribution hitch. It towed beautifully, not sure what the downside would be.

I am towing it with a 2021 Ford 150 with the small eco-boost engine towing capacity about 7300lbs and does have the trailer package.

Some of the lighter weight frames on the camper toungs will bend if you use a wdh. These are usally c channel type frames. You probably dont need a wdh with that weight, and depending on what your towing it with , might not be able to use it. The sway controll you need is a friction sway bar. Like 50$ on amazon. There all roughly the same. Your hotch will need a plate with a second smaller ball.

A bent "A" frame on some lightweight rv trailer and non rv trailers can be common when using a WD hitch. However most trailers that size don't need WD hitch depending on the tow vehicle.
Without looking at the OPs 3000 lb single axle trailers A frame and main frame rails construction I wouldn't say yes or no.

Who told you the frame would bend?
Have never heard that one before. I imagine that some King Kong fool could do it,but not when the hitch is installed set up and used properly

I am a big believer in the use of WDH.Even if not necessarily called for to restore front axle weight, they add a certain level of sway control, stability and rigidity to your unit, all good things

first, it's called a Weight Distribution Hitch. 2nd, what are you towing with? 3rd, DON'T use fictional dry weights. that trailer will have a GVWR of nearly 5000lbs. So need to know what you're towing with.
