What RV type to pull a small boat

I am looking for recommendations for selecting the right type of RV for our specific purpose.

When we go RV'ing; we want to bring a small boat along.

I currently have a slide in camper, it's getting old and my bride does not like it. No restroom or inside shower.

Time to upgrade!
We are now retired and are about to start longer RV trips. (1 week - 4 weeks)

Considering:
1. a small class A (used)
2. small fifth wheel (used)

Other possibilities, find an RV that will haul 2 kayaks or 1 canoe for fishing/boating instead of the boat & trailer.

If we choose the fifth wheel selection, I will need to trade my jeep for a diesel powered PU truck as well.

I understand the extra danger with a fifth wheel and a boat trailer, Texas law allows, but you don't see this often.

Thanks for your help.

Don't sell the Jeep do this, get a custom trailer builder and have them make you a open stacker trailer for the Jeep and small boat and get a motorhome..

Or... look into inflatable or frame kayaks? I carried a nice Sea Eagle Fastrak 385 in our 5th wheel - it only took about 5 minutes to inflate; and the paddling performance was pretty darn good. Was rated for up to Class III whitewater; also made a nice dive and fishing platform.

Or,

Do as a friend does. He carries three kayaks on the roof of his Class C and tows a small boat or a car depending on where they are going. Just don't stack over 13'.

A sailor, his bride and their black dogs (one dear dog is waiting for us at the bridge) going to see some dry places that have Geocaches in a coach made the year we married.

I have a small C with a hitch on the front bumper. Works great for the boat.

just two people a small C would be great ,we have a LTV sprinter and it pulls my 18ft boat just fine. and gets better mpg than a gasser.

Your Class A and you could add Class C I would think makes the most sense, only because you would not be limited to only Texas. I know its a big state, but there are 49 others that you may want to visit one day.

If you already have a slide in truck camper why not just upgrade to a nicer one? A TC with a full dry bath and a slide should make the wife happy. You may need a bigger truck but it sounds like you were considering that anyway.

What is the danger? I double tow and have been passed by DP towing a full sized pickup on the Straights Mackinaw bridge in Michigan at 35 mph when the huge yellow sign is flashing 25 MILES PER HOUR-FOG. There are far more dangerous RV'ers on the roads.
