assuming you are talking about a pick up truck, if it has a cap like mine did, I mounted permanently some lights on the cap and didn't touch the original truck wiring.

The easiest thing to do is install new lamp holders in your existing tail-lights, if you've got the room. And then run four wires to the front of your car or truck, one wire is for the ground. I believe you can order these sockets and lamps from Blue Ox.com web site. I'm thinking that where I got mine.

I too am confused what you are asking. Do you want to tow a Avalanche behind a Motorhome or do you want to wire up a Valance to tow a trailer...

You'll need to be a little more specific. Are you looking to use the Chevy's taillights from the MH? Or, perhaps install a secondary taillight harness with bulbs? Or, perhaps you don't mind using magnetic towing lights? Are you going to have an aux braking system in the Avalanche (pretty much needed with a toad that big)?

I believe the OP wants to his Avalanche behind his MH.
I would suggest running a four conductor cable under you rig to one of the taillights. the best one is where the main harness comes from the front. You will need to install diodes to prevent backfeeding into the Avalanche's wiring and computer.
There is different configurations. Whether your MH has separate turn signals and whether the toad vehicle has separate turn signals. Look at the two wiring diagrams from Roadmaster.
