Workamping question

My wife and I are toying with the idea to go fulltime in about 9 or 10 years from now. My wife will be doing contract work with a company and will need seucre, high speed internet. We are considering doing the workamping thing (or at least I will be doing the work). I know most people usually do the workamping for public parks (state, federal, etc), but for those that have done it at private parks, have you ever had a local cable company or phone company install high speed internet for the short term (3-6 months)? Wondering if it had been done or can even be done. I know the park would have to ok it, but perhaps some places would allow it. The company wants her to have secure high speed internet. Don't think our cell data plan (30GB) could handle it or if they would even consider it secure enough. Then again, maybe something will change with the technology in the next 10 years...

Absolutely! I very seldom worked the office. I gardened, ran a gift shop, a convince store, trained horses, maintained trails, restored old buildings....opportunities are endless

I was wondering, has anyone work camped where only 1 person in the couple was the worker? My wife has worked in an office for years and doesn't look forward to being stuck back in that environment. I was thinking of applying for a position and let the DW enjoy retirement. suggestions?

With anything technology related, planning today for what is not needed until 10 years from now is pointless. In that length of time, so many new options will be available and today's choices will be very obsolete.

I workamped for the summer at a KOA in upstate NY a few years ago. One of the other workamper couples got cable internet hooked up at their site so the wife could do her medical transcription work at night. May not be available at all campgrounds but if it's possible, they'll do it for the right price.

Awesome....it's not medical transcription, but it's in the medical field...

Things with technology will change somewhat in the next ten years. Consider that cell phones are not much older than that. and that the "computer Age" is less than fifty or so.
