Would like to be a courier So Cal to New England this spring

Hello! I am new to the forum but have been reading several of them. I'd like to be a courier for an RV (preferably Class C) this spring to move from southern California to just south of Boston. I have an elderly cat with bone spurs and arthritis, so she can't be jammed in a carrier for other moving options. (Also, an RV sounds fun.)
I've gathered from other forums that southern California RV's are often better deals than New England- based vehicles because of the rust issue. I've seen posters advising to buy in CA and re-sell in New England, but I don't have the spare money to take that chance, and I definitely don't have the gas money for the trip if I did a rental, as I imagine gas alone must be about 3k!
I was thinking I could call Boston area RV dealers and see if they had an interest in me acting as a courier in exchange for the gas cost. I also thought about maybe posting on Craigslist, I'm just concerned I might get some sketchy replies or scammers. I checked uship dot com (apparently they are on "Shipping Wars," but I haven't seen it!) but I'm not seeing any Rv listings, and a forum message seemed to indicate the site is lacking in RV listing options.
Any advice is appreciated-- where/whom to ask or post, and if this is even a reasonable request!

Dutch-- the casual drivers delivery thing is what I'm trying to check out. Reimbursement for gas would be perfect. I'm not seeking a driver's fee or upfront gas money.

Hi everyone, thanks for the input. The insurance switch shouldn't be a problem but the commercial license issue would be difficult. I've done the move before with kitty and car, and getting her in and out at hotels was like a Benny Hill sequence. Might be worth it to get a loan and just do a rental.

Also your Auto Insurance will have to be changed to RV Insurance, to drive along with commercial driving licence as listed.

I doubt that any of the New England dealers are going to buy any units in So. California, then drive them to New England to resell them. Rust isn't usually a factor in an RV purchase. If it's rusting out, it's so old nobody wants it anyway. The cost of transportation would offset any savings. It's not like they are giving them away. Best go to a plan "B" whatever that might be...

Our truck shop has had a number of vehicles delivered to it by one of the driver services that use casual drivers on a per trip basis. In every case, the driver paid all expenses for the trip, and was reimbursed on delivery plus the delivery charge. I understand some of the driver service companies will front the first tank of gas for a car, but I doubt they would do that for an RV.

I don't think you will find many, if any, interested in your deal.

If I'm understanding your post correctly You're planning on allowing your aging cat to walk around the RV while traveling because it can't be confined to a crate?

Good luck and, enjoy the trip if you find someone willing to take you up on your offer.

You will probably be better off making the trip in a car.

I'd be surprised if many folks would be very willing to let someone with no motorhome experience to drive their unit across country.

Do you have a car? That would be your best option. BTW, if an RV gets 10 MPG, your gas quantity would be 300 gals. for the 3000 mi trip.
