Atwood-Hydro Flame Furnace Thermostat Replacement

I currently have an Atwood-Analog Hydro Flame Furnace Thermostat and would like to replace it with a digital thermostat control. Atwood doesn't make one of furnace use only, is there a work around??

That's my rig! We love the layout and the large restroom across the back is the best feature.
I actually got the original documentation and manuals with all the appliance spec sheets.
The original owner, a friend of mine, kept the manual from the dealer with tabs for each appliance.
I'm just trying to familiarize myself with everything.
I upgraded the converter, added a new battery, new tires, new matteress and new vent covers.
Washed and waxed it and it looks like brand new!!!

In your spare time, you may want to make a list of make and model of appliances. When you need that information, it will be dark, cold and probably raining. Bryantrv.com has listings of many RV appliances along with repair and owner's manuals.

The fan is NOT controllable on the standard RV Furnace and tstat. ALL you are doing is closing the connection at the tstat. You have 2 wires going to the Tstat and all the Furnace wall tstat does is open and close the 2 wires connection. Doug

The majority of RV furnaces do not have a separate fan function. The thermostat will control the temperature. The fan will start and run for 10-20 seconds before the furnace burner starts. This is to clear any residual gas in system. The burner will shut down when temperature is reached, the fan will continue to run in a cool down mode for 10-20 seconds.

Oh, I forgot .... I have a roof A/C which has controls on it that are not connected to the thermostat.

If current t-stat only controls furnace then any Hunter/Honeywell/Lux digital t-stat that uses battery ($20-$25) will work. Most any hardware store

Furnace only uses 2 wires
The wire on your old t-stat on 'W' would go to 'W' on new t-stat
The other wire on old t-stat would go to RC/RH on new t-stat
(If you have 3 wires-----the wire on 'G' on old t-stat would go to 'G' on new t-stat >>>>>FAN wire)

I suggest you use the forum search feature - lots of threads on this subject with detail answers which suggest which model and how to wire to replace the old analog thermostats. It's an easy, inexpensive upgrade that many wish they had done earlier.

Any millivolt thermostat will work. Batteries will need to be replaced occasionally. We replace around clock switching for daylight savings time.
