Bathroom faucet repair

Hi everyone

I am attempting a repair and need advise.

Bathroom faucet appears to be leaking from the base, with water leaking on top of the bathroom vanity.

I called nearest Camping World and they were like bring it in, then said they only sell faucets and not gaskets/parts. I would try fixing it first before replacing the entire faucet (and would even try to do that myself) but really do not know where to look up a part # and where to buy.

The trailer is a 2007 Travel Light by R-Design C-21RBH.

Appreciate any advise here.

Thank you j-d!!
Amazon RV bathroom faucet

Ebay faucet

The eBay one looks impressive but shipping to Canada is high.
I think Amazon has the Best Buy this time.

I have a stick house faucet that looks like it will fit but am reluctant to give up the shower attachment.

I took it all apart a few years ago and replaced the O rings. I think it improved for a year or so. I do remember it was quite complicated and tricky to put back together. I hope you will find a better fix and post it here!

Replacement at Amazon in White or "Bisque" at $25 USD. I replaced our RV kitchen and vanity faucets with "Phoenix" brand from Amazon. Yes, they're cheap Phoenix and sometimes they squeak. But, they fit RV and installed with no fuss. Orignals were washer type. These are "washerless" which is probably the squeak.

Google on - bathroom faucet with sprayer - you'll find 4" centers and sprayer. One even offers a second hose connection for your RV Bidet.

If you're going to throw it away, you may as well tell him to go big and just buy a new trailer. Never hurts to just change the rubber O rings and learn something.

Have you ever disassembled one of these half pound, all plastic pieces of chrome plated garbage? Probably not, since many of them are just glued together and unrepairable. They are simply not worth plaguing yourself with. They can't cost the trailer manufacturer more than five bucks a piece, and every time they break, the parts are way more than the POS is worth. A decent, sale priced faucet from any big box store is a far better way to handle this issue.

Yes I have replaced both the bathroom and kitchen faucet "O" rings on the upper stem which prevents leakage coming from under the handle. The flat washers on the base get changed too to prevent leakage.

Good idea, TakingTheFifth. I must check the spacing.

I wonder if you could install a kitchen faucet with a sprayer and modify the sprayer with a shower head. Just saying ...

Probably not. Typical two handle kitchen faucet is 8" on center, bath is 4", so stuffed into that corner on a 45* angle, my guess is that it wouldn't work, since it's too long. Might be a great idea in other similar applications, though.

Update. Was unable to disassemble the faucet to remove o-rings because caps on too of handled appeared to be nonremovable. So went to home depot and got veey simular $12. Removal and install were very simple.

(appears to be leaking from the base) have you attempted to tighten up the lines underneath the sink.

If it is leaking on the vanity top rather than dripping it is most likely o-rings on the valve stems. Take it apart then head to the hardware store. Also try cleaning your aerator, if it is plugged it will create back pressure on your stem seals and possibly push water through. I love the posts that assume you have a poor quality non repairable faucet. My 2008 original equipment bath faucet is a quality piece.

Sure they are the same quality, after all trail-lite by R-vision was a quality coach builder just like Carriage. I'm sure your Carriage was an entry level, low cost, weekend grade, ultra-lite built with the lightest, thinnest materials, and full of low end commodity parts, like chromed plastic faucets, and 4MM luan as the thickest structural panel in the whole rig, right? Hum, maybe this is a bit out of your wheelhouse? As a former Trail-Lite owner, and admirer of Carriage rigs, I'm trying hard not to laugh at this.

If you built a Trail-Lite of that era to Carriage standards, and left it on the same frame and suspension, it would literally droop at the ends until the bumper drags, and the springs would collapse. Not even apples and oranges here.

I have a trailer and don't monitor the build quality and plumbing fixtures of other brands. I have no basis to presume his sink faucet is garbage and non repairable.
