I need to buy a battery for my rv.
Do I hook it up with a ring terminal and if so what size ring,or do I use a regular terminal connector.
Also where do you buy your batteries and which ones do you buy

Got mine at Costco GC2 x4
Currently Costco sells the light duty 208 amp/hr.
If purchasing today I would go Sams Club, US Battery or Trojan dealer for 232+ amp/hr.
If going AGM it would be Lifeline from the local supplier.

Most batteries I have installed lately have both 5/16 studs ( or 8 mm).
Which battery to buy depends on what type of use you are going to have- a lot of boondocking or moving from park to park, and whether you have a converter or an inverter/charger.

I wouldn't take it personally. What appears in text may not be what a respondent had in mind.

Verify, but I believe it is 5/16 and 3/8.
I would get 3/8.
Make sure of the wire size for crimps. Yellow is for 10/12 wire. Larger wire maybe bare.
I inject electrical grease into the connectors before crimping.

No, that blue line means to click the link to read about 'what battery?' LOL

Next time oldman please give constructive advise thank you

I'm convinced that providing you with a previous multiple page discussion on your subject was constructive. That is, if you would actually take the time to read the thread that was linked.

You are new here, all of your questions have probably been asked and answered many times before. Providing a link alleviates the necessity of having the same discussion all over again.

I believe most studs are 5/16". Optima D31T is 3/8" and maybe others.

So, you thank someone who answered only part of your question, you ignored the two links that were provided for you that answered your other question, and you diss me for having to tell you how to click a link?

Perhaps the moderator will remove all this wasted space. Have a nice day.

Usually the positive terminal is marked on the battery case with a +

And the negative terminal is marked with a -

The positive terminal needs a 5/16" diameter hole ring terminal

The negative terminal needs a 1/4" diameter hole ring terminal

This is for a car size RV battery

Different batteries will use different sizes I guess.. This is a spec sheet for the popular Trojan T105 battery
