Champion generator special buy

No, I'm not selling anything, just happy about a great buy, that I thought I'd pass along!

I've been waiting for Home Depot to have a discount on their Champion 2K inverter genny Model 100306. Well for Black Friday, and Cyber Monday they had an exact same 2K model, less the led display for a great price of $399 model 100565. The 100306 is still $499, no price drop. Yesterday the price on the 100565 dropped to $349...SUPER PRICE, so I bought one!

This is not the same as the cheaper designed model that Tractor Supply sells. Here a are few pics, the first is HD 100306, next HD 100565, and last the different designed TSC version.

a portable generator is NOT grounded to earth ground
there is NO electrical path from hot or neutral to earth ground in normal dry use conditions

GFIC possibly added because these are so popular with campers
rain , puddles, deep wet grass etc..

probably more 'cover the a$$' lawyer requirement, because people will do stupid things
I can explain it to you.
But I Can Not understand it for you !

I thought I'd add a few other points of interest concerning the newest of the models I pictured (center pic model 100565), the one I just purchased. It is designed with more safety features, such as, the obvious covered outlets, including the parallel outlets, and resets. What you don't see, the 120 outlets are also GFCI on the newer 100565, but are not on the others. The addition of these safety features makes me wonder if earlier models, or other brand models may have caused an occasional shock to the operator?

While the bright yellow earlier model has more bling, safety added features are more important to me.

Anyhow hope a few others got in on the special buy like I did!

Thanks to moderator jplante4 for reopening my thread. He is a stand up guy for doing so, when he did not have to!

There were no "Honda comments made by others". I mentioned the Honda cult in the message when I closed the thread. Since I reopened it, the post was no longer on topic.

I suggest you put that "on topic" test to your posts as well. If you have nothing to add, move on.

Just a FYI on these new style gens. They are designed to be stacked one on top of the other, when used in parallel. However this new parallel kit will not be available until January 2019. For those needing to parallel right now, you can use previous model kit, but will have to set one gen beside the other.

I won't be starting mine until Spring, unless for an emergency, but in looking it over, pretty impressed with the quality and features. Also a 3 yr warranty, so no worries leaving it sit unused for a while. Champion tech guy told me that each is run at the factory, before boxed for shipment.

I'm thinking of betting into boondocking - so a generator like this is in my future. Thanks for the post!
